We need an outreach officer to go out and recruit for Asian Diversity and Inclusion officer for Fairfax County. |
And this Outreach Officer should be given booster points for applying for a position at a known hostile and unwelcoming place of employment. |
Let's not forget to hire a consultant to tell us how we can best boost Asian representation in Fairfax County. This must be done by an Asian consultant and this consultant should be paid comparable amount say $300,000 for 3 hours. |
|
Asians also must make up at least 20% of the admissions panels to properly reflect the county demographics.
It is a travesty that no Asians are involved in the policy making and in the implementation of those policies by the admissions panels. It is even worse since Asians get the blame but do not get to even have an ounce of input into anything. |
I will do it for $100K an hr. |
| Well, just got an email. FCPS is moving forward with the same admissions process as they did for class of 2025. |
| The repercussions for the class of 2026 is many students who should be admitted to TJ will not. Because of FCPS’s racist new policy. |
The plaintiffs' kids are admitted, aren't they? You must be furious at them. |
|
Three things are clear:
1. There will be further appeals, whether to the Fourth Circuit en banc or to the Supreme Court. 2. The Class of 2026, like its predecessor, will not be held in the same high regard as prior TJ classes, and the overall reputation of the school will take a hit. 3. As FCPS continues to devote outsized attention to the composition of the student body at a single high school, the rest of the system will also continue to decline. |
Your #2 is not a negative. Having a good magnet school is good, having the best school in the country isn't great for those students or for the students at the other local high schools. Change is good. (Maybe the notoriously awful math teachers at TJ could improve, too.) |
Improve how? |
Credit where credit's due: my kids always tell me Math, as taught at TJ, kicks ass and prepared them well for college (especially Dr O). |
I am sure he can remedial math then. |
Can someone share this email? |
Really? Despite making up around 15% of the county they had captured something like 70% of all TJ spots. That's hardly being shut out. |
