Has anyone had their reception at Maggiano’s?

Hello all, I’m seriously considering Maggiano’s for the reception because it just seems so easy- I won’t have to rent chairs, mess with caterers, get chair covers, etc. I also love the idea of family style food- I want this to be an opportunity for our families to get to know one another and this seems perfect. We will have about 30 guest. Any cons to this idea? We will also consider having an ordaine minister officiate the quick ceremony at the restaurant as well.

My reception was at Maggianos in Friendship, the place was lovely and the food amazing. I would suggest having your own day of manager, who will help keep things going (such as speeches and cake cutting). Our DJ thought someone would tell them when there things were happening and we thought our day of manager would do that but they are busy handling issues in the other smaller party rooms and we didn't see them after the first encounter. Everything went well though otherwise

We did something similar - rented a room at a restaurant for our small reception. No DJ or cake cutting or anything - just a big, noisy dinner. It was perfect for us.

my brother-in-law 3 daughters had their receptions there, all over the last 10 years. One daughter had her baby christening there 2 years ago.... Parking is great, food is decent, space is nice....

We had a First Communion dinner there. It was fun.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Maggiono's in CC. Room upstairs, open bar for our guests & very yummy family style dinner. We had about 30 people with spouses and kids. It was super easy and went over really well.

Only caution I'd give is traffic/parking at the CC location can be a PITA...make sure out of town guests have detailed instructions on how to get where they're going.

There are two garages (at least) very close to the Chevy Chase location.

We had our engagement party there. In retrospect I wish we'd had our reception there too.

We had our wedding reception at the Maggiano's in Tysons Corner for ~50 guests. It was perfect.

My friend had her rehearsal dinner there and it was great! Good food, good service, open bar (might have just been wine and beer, don't remember as I wasn't drinking) and a nice chill atmosphere. It was a nice low stress night for everyone which was great since the next day was a typical high stress wedding day.

This is exactly what we did. We had our priest come to Maggiano's and do the ceremony and followed it with appetizers and dinner. It was really easy and really fun.

I'm a horrible traditionalist, but I have to say that I love Maggiano's and would be so relieved to be invited to a fun, relaxed wedding reception there. I was raised within a block of a great Italian restaurant in NY, so for me Maggiano's is like coming home.
