It's interesting that Ukraine has become the tinderbox for global strife within the Asian continent (which includes the Middle East region. It's also set the stage for Russia to become a Chinese vassal soon. This video explains how China is expanding into 21 countries and even claimed that Vladivostok belongs to China.

Since Russia is militarily and economically weak, and since Putin is giving the green light to foreign investment by China, Russia's Far East is offering little resistance to being overtaken by Chinese Corporations.

That may explain why China hasn't offered open military assistance to Russia, and why Russia had to turn to North Korea for artillery? China knows that it's just a matter of time before it's armies need to fight Russia, and since Russia has set the tone for what military tactics are acceptable for use (i.e. rape, murder, genocide, kidnapping of children, etc.), now would be the perfect time for open conflict while Russia is militarily weakened.
