NVA will have to get some players if they want to be competitive again. Not happening anytime soon - the talent loss continues for next year. |
| STA just gave ECNL another boys club (Oakwood) so maybe there is something in that |
| Timing of announcement right before ga spring showcase. Expect an announcement on Wed or Thurs. |
| Please… |
These two clubs aren’t even in the same planet of clubs, no one is leaving Nationals to go to Michigan Stars. If they don’t like not being on the top team there they would have to drive past Liverpool ECNL to go to a GA club that’s lower level than most of the ecrl options around metro Detroit. |
I didn't say people would leave the Nationals to go to the Stars. I'm saying people kicked to the curb might OR those who are good that they try to stash on their B teams. Liverpool is OK but would be a drive for some depending on where you live. And here's the thing about youth soccer. Clubs, especially at the highest levels, get political and toxic pretty quick, even decent ones, and if it's not the coaches, it can be the parents. Combine that with only x-number of seats on a national platform and that equals a new/better opportunity, especially when most of the Stars local rivals are going RL (which is essentially replacing the top level of USYS in the state -- there aren't enough GA Aspire teams yet to compete, maybe there will be). So, your option is basically stay at your current level with RL/Aspire OR try to get to the higher platform. Sure, GA is behind ECNL, but here's the thing -- it's still a pretty strong league -- which is why ECNL and its social media allies keeps punching down on it. |

these 2 leaving will cause an earthquake. yes it is true. the walls are closing in on the ga.

| Yawn… no telling who it is |
then name them. its an anonymous forum. what are you worried about? |

At the heart of it, ECNL doesn't want the competition from clubs that traditionally fed them, because then they can't compete nationally when the talent gets spread out. They'd rather have these clubs in their pyramid instead that they're trying to shape toward them after USYS NL fragmented, in part, thanks to the growth of MLSN/GA, and in part, thanks to ECNL frankly being too successful with its FOMO. Now, it's feverishly trying to put that toothpaste back in the tube.
It's the greatest irony of course is people go to ECNL, in part, because their local club can't compete, which forces these families to drive several hours locally in some cases. And from GA's perspective, they used to have Nationals in this area, so they are simply trying to replace them (They had Sporting BUT that club split apart). Nothing wrong with more choice. |
| ECNL is going to split again in 2-3 years when all the really good ENCL clubs say they are too good to play with everyone else and need an Elite ECNL ... and then the cycle will repeat again. |
Let whoever go if they want. GA is doing it right. Generation Adidas Cup was amazing for them. Notice all the propaganda is timed for their big events. If they were dying, you wouldn't see that. I mean when was the last time -- before they became partners -- went after USYS NL? They never did because they never saw them as a threat (only as a place to poach players). |
| ECNL wants leverage. The only way to do that is to admit the remaining top dawgs from GA |
Yep. They needed USYS to keep the local clubs in line. When MLSN/GA came on the scene and USYS got weaker, it forced them to do what they're doing with RL. It's all a big game of musical chairs. |
