Sometimes I will go to dinner, have 2 glasses of wine and I feel tipsy. Other times I know that the relaxation from the wine is mixing with my already tired body and making me feel more impaired than I am. I want to be able to feel confident that if I am pulled over, I'm not over the limit. I am going to look into getting a little breathalyzer for the car so that I can check, but do you have any ways of telling when you are creeping up to the limit? |
Just don't have more than two drinks if you're going to be driving. Two glasses of wine over the course of a meal will generally not send you over the legal limit...you certainly wouldn't need to buy a personal breathalyzer. |
Stick to one glass.
Better yet do not drink at all. |
Don't drink if you are driving. |
Personally I never have any alcohol if I am driving. |
+1 WTF, OP?! It's called Uber. Or abstaining if you need to drive. Don't be a selfish asshole. |
If that's what you're most worried about then you need to get your priorities straightened out. Be more worried about hurting someone when your "already tired body" gets extra relaxed with a few drinks and swerves into someone else's car. Jeez. |
One standard drink per hour. If in doubt, don't drive. |
Since you are unable to tell when you've had too much alcohol, in your case you are not allowed to drink at all. You are a ticking time bomb whenever you drink. Btw most adults ( not all) know their limits. |
I agree with this PP. You should not be only worried if you are legally impaired, but if you're feeling impaired at all. BTW Driving tired is as bad as driving drunk. |
I meant to say driving while tired is as dangerous as, not as bad as, driving drunk. |
This! Uber or a cab. Seriously, are you that stupid? |
Absolutely this. I rarely drink so can easily tell when I've had my fill. My brother drinks more often, maybe once a week, and without question knows his limit. It was suggested to us that one drink during a meal was fine (assuming said meal took an hour and the drink wasn't some ridiculously large concoction of liqueur). If you can't tell then don't drink. Problem solved. Wait until you get home. |
I don't drink at all if I am going to drive. AT ALL. People give me crap about this. Oh well. |
Strongly agree with this. I also have a hard time anticipating how alcohol will or will not impair me. Therefore, I simply do not drink if I will be driving (or at most will have ONE beer if I'm going to be there for several hours before driving). |
