I have no more than 1 drink if I'm driving. It's not rocket surgery. |
Nicely done. |
Just Uber. The cost (monetary and other) of a DUI is much more. |
Are you just assuming they're going to drink multiple drinks or that there is no way they could have not driven? Also those people don't care what you think and if they're there with little kids most likely don't even notice you. |
What does having dinner with your kids have to do with driving? |
+1. I have NO Patience for selfish people who drive tipsy/drunk. BTW, was the victim of a drunk driver last year (head on collision) and nearly died. |
OP here.
Let me address some facts. I never drive drunk. when I have this feeling of "sleepy/possibly impaired" I make other arrangements. I'm asking because it seems like sometimes when I in the house for the night, I'll have one glass of wine and feel really loopy. I know that I'm unfit to drive. Other times such as out with friends, I will have 2 glasses and not feel much different. What I was asking was, does anyone else have anyway of telling if you're actually impaired or just tired but still fit to drive yourself. The reason I ask is because sometimes I will metro or uber home and wonder if I'm drunk at all or just nervous that I'm drunk. |
Just get a breathalyzer. We got them for the kids (over 21) for $50. |
+1 This is the wisest course of action |
I do not drink if driving. I always feel like I am easily impaired if out ( maybe I let myself get hungrier). I suggest none to one drink at the most. And only one if over a two hour time span. |
You are getting impaired after one drink. Just because it is combined with lack of sleep or something else, does not make it more or less safe. You seem to be focused on getting arrested versus safety. A breathalyzer is the only way to know if you will be arrested. For safety, do not drink and drive. Or limit to one drink every couple of hours. Just because some times you fell it less, does not make you less impaired. |
Yes, don't drink at all. The fact is that even one drink can have an impact on reaction times in combination with being tired, having education in your system, inclement weather, etc. A drunk driver hit my family car as a child. Not only the minutes that followed, but the years ahead impacted me, my family, her kids, a pedestrian who was struck, and two responding officers. |
No, I'm most concerned about not injuring myself or someone else if i decide to drive. |
I see what OP is saying. I feel the same way. I guess the only way to tell is with a breathalyzer. Op, one normal serving of alcohol per hour is probably fine. If people can't do this, all bars should close and restaurants should not serve alcohol except to overweight people-otherwise a cop could stand outside and arrested each patron as they leave. |
Hope you GO TO JAIL before you kill some people. |
