DH and I are about to do a FET with amazing donor eggs. We were so very lucky, we feel like we hit the jackpot with 10 normal PGS tested blasts. Due to our age and how long we have been trying it is likely we will be one and done.
If you had the option to select, which would pick? A little boy or little girl? |

This leaves a bad taste in my mouth, even though it sounds like you didn't seek out the opportunity to choose your child's sex.
I don't know what I'd do in that situation. I do know it would be an intensely personal choice, and if I were you I'd keep it that way. |
| The one that my husband and I personally would choose? |
| Boy |
| Male |
| If you used your husband's sperm and you are older, I'd pick a girl because the autism risk seems to rise with older fathers (maybe). |
| Have someone pick randomly for you. |
| I've got one of each and the boy would do much better as an only child than the girl would, but that's just my sample of two. |
Ah interesting consideration |
| I'd let "them" pick randomly and not tell me! Even if you don't do this, the greatest surprise in life is in the delivery room not knowing if it will be a boy or girl! It's all you think about when you're pregnant but then once you get to the delivery room its the LAST thing on your mind. Then someone announces it or you see for yourself the gender and it is SO neat! Worth the wait! |
| I would go with random for a first child and if ever there was a second, I would go with the other gender. |
| I don't believe this post. At all. |
| One of the strangest questions ever asked on this forum. |
hearing at the boutique ultrasound place with my husband holding my hand was also very neat. I'm sure it was just as much of a surprise.

A girl. DH wants a girl, I would be happy with either, and being 42 it might be our only, so he might as well get his wish. This is all in theory because in practice our embies don't make it to PGS testing based on 3 cycles so far. |
