Are they chanting Jihad in Washington Dc, a few miles from the post 9/11 Pentagon and waving a terrorist flag? What the actual F?
.

Expressing support for a ceasefire and more humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza is hardly calling for Jihad. It also does not make them anti semites ….

Absolutely everyone is for more humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The problem is that Hamas keeps stealing it.

That's just not true. There are quite a few members of the Israeli Government against any, let alone more, aid for Palestinians in Gaza, or the West Bank. Those Israeli Government members seem to think that if they just starve the Palestinians then the Palestinians will conveniently ethnically cleanse themselves.

That's false. Aid convoys have been going in. But they have been having other issues, like finding truck drivers willing to risk their lives. Hamas has opened fire around the trucks when people complained about them stealing the aid.

Post your source for this claim.

Are you for real? There have been dozens and dozens of documented instances of Hamas shooting people and threatening people and taking the aid for themselves going back to December and earlier. Here's yet another recent instance: https://www.jpost.com/israel-hamas-war/article-781286

Stop gaslighting. Stop defending Hamas. Stop deflecting. Stop pretending none of this is real. Stop pretending there is one and only one bad guy here and that it's the IDF.

This is a lie spread by Israel that Hamas is stealing aid. Both the UN and the US say this is not happening. So do you believe Israel or the US?

From a Wapo article today:

Israeli officials have repeatedly charged that any lack of aid is due to Hamas looting inside Gaza, something that both the United Nations and the United States deny. Any looting that has taken place, a U.N. spokesman said in recent days, has been by “desperate” Gazan civilians who don’t know when or if the next delivery will come.

A senior U.S. official also sharply disputed Israel’s characterization, saying that “the Israeli government has not brought to the attention of the U.S. government … any specific evidence of Hamas theft or diversion of assistance provided via the U.N. and its agencies. Full stop.”

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/01/14/israel-gaza-low-intensity/

Did you forget when Hamas fighters pushed themselves to the front of the line, (ahead of dying children) to get medical treatment in the early days of the war? Maybe you missed that.

Again with this Israeli lie - it didn't happen.

All of these so-called "Israeli lies" have been repeatedly documented.

Documented by IDF but unverified - just like 40 beheaded babies.

There's video, photographic evidence and other things to prove many of the Israeli statements. Whereas Hamas has provided virtually nothing to actually debunk any of it, just empty blanket statements of "it's a lie."

Please post the evidence that Hamas stole aid and, as you say, "pushed themselves to the front of the line, (ahead of dying children) to get medical treatment."

There are numerous sources including frustrated Palestinians who have bravely spoken out against Hamas. One example here:

https://nypost.com/2023/12/25/news/hamas-in-control-of-unrwa-aid-group-in-gaza-palestinian-man/

Your proof is an IDF recording? IDF has lied so much in this war that I can not believe them on anything.

Please provide specific evidence that the IDF lied about this specific conversation. You cannot accuse the brave men and women of the IDF of lying with no evidence of such. Doing so is slander and you should be very careful as there are many of us American Jews perfectly willing to proceed with legal proceedings to protect our heroes in the IDF from such nasty slander.

What has been clearly established, however, is that the United Nations is a strong ally and supporter of Hamas in their fenocidal mission. That cannot be disputed. We have also seen that Hamas steals every drop of aid brought into Gaza. Until we completely stop all aid, all we are doing is feeding the Hamas war machine.

Ghastly - just ghastly. You don't deserve to call America home, you traitorous sack of trash. There's not an individual in Hamas that's worse than you, based on that post. And that includes the ones who committed horrific attacks on 10/7. That's how bad of a person YOU are. You are worse than the worst Hamas terrorist.

Tall order, but you somehow met the challenge. Congrats.

DP, but I’m pretty sure that it’s the Americans supporting the side which wishes death to America who are traitors.

No. The protests are for a ceasefire and for the US to stop funding Israel. The Protests are not in support of Hamas terrorists.

Will Israel save the hostages lives by agreeing to a ceasefire?

Bullcrap.
Some of these protestors are carrying Hamas flags and chanting the same rhetoric as the Hamas terrorists.
And, we have seen more than enough evidence of people actually praising these less-than-human individuals.

DP

My friends who attended the protest are centrist types and were definitely just asking for a ceasefire and more humanity towards the Palestinians.

There were no doubt a minority of more extreme protestors but it was mostly peaceful and most protestors just want to see a ceasefire and humanitarian support for the many Palestinians civilians suffering from terrible injuries/ loss of homes/ loss of family members and starvation. Especially the many children who are suffering so much.

Everyone I know condemns Hamas actions on October 7.

But Israel’s disproportionate response is not only inhumane but making Israel less safe in a hostile region.

Very fine people at the protest, right?

You know the left has lost their minds when they’re parroting Trump’s rhetoric on Charlottesville.

What? I never said they were very fine people - I said they are sensible centrist types and not extremists. They simply Want the indiscriminate response by IDF to stop and for more humanitarian support for the innocent Palestinians. They also condemn Hamas’ actions but don’t think Israel’s scale of response is justified.

It is in no one’s interests to continue down this extreme path. Many Jewish friends in DMV are also horrified by the scale of devastation visited upon Palestinians / all while not approving of Hamas and wanting Israel to survive.

It is bizarre to refer to anyone who disagrees with IDF’s military tactics as anti semitic.

Looking at the photos of the destruction Israel has inflicted on Gaza is pretty drastic. Anyone who thinks this level of vengeance is moral and sane is fringe.

What specifically surprised them? How else modern warfare would look in an urban area? Look at Fallujah, Aleppo, Grozniy, Ukraine, etc. Modern warfare is designed to obliterate. What evidence have you all had that this will somehow look different?

The daily war death toll in Palestine averages 250 people a day, which is the highest in any major conflict in the 21st century. A disproportionate number of war dead are civilians, particularly children. This figure (250 a day) does not count deaths from the indirect effects of the war, such as starvation, disease, and cold. The number of dead under the rubble is unknown. For every death, several civilians are blinded, paralyzed, disfigured, and/or lose limbs. Almost every building in Gaza has been damaged or destroyed. Everyone in Gaza will be profoundly affected psychologically for the rest of their lives. It is extremely likely that Israeli hostages are dying along with the rest of the population, either through shelling or limited access to medical care and inadequate diet.

The goal appears to be to make Gaza completely unlivable, so Gazans either die or leave as refugees and Israeli settlers can move in and take over. Saving the hostages doesn't seem to be a priority. Israel could have negotiated their release ages ago. The whole thing is chilling. I don't like the term "evil," but what else does one call this?

Tell us what would happen if Israel agreed to a unilateral ceasefire, please? Because Hamas would continue their efforts to exterminate Jews... which is fine by you. What you really mean is Jews should not be allowed to fight back.

Ceasefire means both sides stop firing.

What happens if the ceasefire is broken by one side or another is part of the conditions of a ceasefire treaty.

Which is why there can not be a ceasefire until every single Hamas supporter is either dead or locked up in Israeli prison.

Because Hamas will never abide by any ceasefire. They will keep killing and raping and destroying the world until they achieve their goal of the death of every Jew in the world.

And the Palestinian experience is that Israel is committed to killing and destroying them. An endless cycle.

All arising from the Palestinians’ idiotic decision to reject UN resolution 181.

You’re blaming them for not wanting to lose more than 60% of their land?

The Turks and the Brits and Armenians all either colonized or moved to Palestine in the past century and they didn’t blink an eye so the idea that they hate outsiders isn’t true . Certain immigrants were harsher than others

Nah. I’m blaming them for launching a war of annihilation in response.

Hasn’t worked out very well for anyone involved.

Immoral, illegal under international law, and profoundly stupid.

Jeez, I don’t know, it seems to have worked out REALLY well for the Zionist movement, right?!?!

The Zionist movement reminds me of the desegregation movement by MLK. Many Jews and black people were against Zionism and integration respectively thinking it would weaken their respective ethnic groups economic and social power. I think people forget these movements we so closely identify and socially accept these days due to their success originally were controversial and had their fair share of intellectuals who were virulently opposed.

Zionism had many Jewish opponents who thought one Jewish state isn’t needed because Jess belong to the entire Middle East from Turkey to Yemen, that the Children of Israel was never a state but a tribe /people .

Yes. I hope this puts to bed the “this is just war” mantra.

I have written it before and will repeat myself.

Israel’s outsize response is fostering the next generation of hate. As a Jew, IDF actions make me feel less - not more - safe. As a human, I am horrified about the level of killing and destruction imposed by a country that knows what suffering is.

Have you looked at photos of Bakhmut? Avdiika? Marinka? Mosul? Fallujah?

It's war.

And urban warfare is the worst.

Perhaps you could tell me why Hamas launched this war? Still don't understand what the strategic purpose was here.

Hamas invades Israel on a quiet Saturday morning, murders a bunch of kids at a music festival. Murders a bunch of peaceniks living on kibbutzes. These are pretty much the most liberal people in Israel. And Hamas slaughtered more than 1200. Then they raped and tortured innumerable women, killing most of them. Breaking their pelvises. Beheading them. Stabbing them. Shooting these women in the head as they violated them. Then they injure thousands more. Then they kidnapped 250 people, including kids and the elderly.

All before noon.

Have you looked at those photos?

What was the purpose?

Question for all you people posting here.

What was the purpose?

The purpose was killing Jews, obvs. That's what Hamas is for. That's their whole purpose.

No it isn’t

The daily death toll in Ukraine is much higher. Closer to 1500-2000 every single day. But there it's mostly uniformed soldiers on the front lines. Not even Russians would do what Hamas did.

Israel was out of Gaza for nearly twenty years when Hamas invaded. Most people in Gaza had never seen a settler or an Israeli soldier in their entire lives. And absolutely no one in Israel was talking about creating settlements in Gaza. Palestinians in Gaza have been free to do as they please since 2005. Unfortunately they chose Hamas. And this is where Hamas has led them - Gaza in ruins, international pariahs, isolation, and years of misery to look forward to. Might have been a mistake choosing a genocidal terrorist regime to lead them.

From the 10/7 videos, Palestinians in Gaza sure were enthusiastic about their invasion of Israel and their loot of hostages. Hope it was worth it for them.

That’s because every death is a Gazan civilian to you. They don’t wear uniforms and there are 20-30,000 Hamas operatives in Gaza. Israel estimates that 8,000 Hamas terrorists were killed. Again, it took Israel months to count 1200 dead but Hamas run healthcare which is supposed to be in total shambles, is somehow able to give real life updates on the numbers killed. If Israel’s estimates are correct and Hamas estimates are also correct the daily killed are 157 per day. No one is ever going to know the true number. We still don’t know how many were killed in Fallujah . Coalition forces estimate 10k while Iraqi sources estimate 40,000.

Hamas doesn’t wear uniforms? They literally wear ski masks dude .

Gazan health ministry death counts are deemed as accurate by many organizations and even the US. They even break down deaths by demographic (women, man, child, unmarked grave/unknown).

Israel is the one who has been unreliable and hasn’t found the evidence of genital mutilation, mass raped women, or beheaded infants yet .

A TEAM OF Israeli lawyers and officials presented their defense at The Hague on Friday in the second day of the genocide case brought before the International Court of Justice by the government of South Africa. The lawyers portrayed Israel as the actual victim of genocide, not Gaza, accused South Africa of supporting Hamas, and painted South Africa’s government as functioning as the legal arm of the Palestinian militants who led the deadly raids into Israel on October 7.

Israel benefitted greatly from the fact that there was no cross examination permitted or debate allowed during these proceedings. It embarked on a bold mission to do in a court of international law what its military and political officials have done day and night throughout the course of this war against Gaza: unleash a deluge of what was known within the Trump administration as “alternative facts.”

Israel’s defense was the inverse of South Africa’s case yesterday, and as weak in offering documented facts as South Africa’s was powerful. History began on October 7, the Israelis seemed to say, South Africa is Hamas, South Africa did not give Israel a chance to meet up and chat about Gaza before suing for genocide, and actually the Israel Defense Forces is the most moral entity on Earth. As for the voluminous public statements by senior Israeli officials indicating genocidal intent, those were just “random assertions” by some irrelevant underlings. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements invoking a murderous story from the Bible about killing the women, infants, and cattle of your enemies? The South Africans just don’t understand theology and presented Netanyahu’s words out of context.

How long are we going to continue this?

And, we have Americans marching in support of these terrorists......

They didn’t choose Hamas with an overwhelming majority . Hamas won a low turnout election with 44% of the vote. Palestinians feared Hamas because they didn’t want to die in a war with Israel.

Israel didn’t allow many West Bank Palestinians to pass checkpoints to vote. These West Bankers were likely the ones to vote for the PLO against Hamas. Hamas is an entity of Israel’s own push. The PLO had international backing which Israel didn’t like . They wanted the pariah in power so they didn’t have to be pressured into peace talks. It was a foolish gamble on the part of Israelis one that they paid dearly for and that the best Israeli intelligence chiefs strongly warned Bibi about.

I agree.

Texans should start shooting undocumented immigrants who squat on their land. /s

Fascinating when the far left sounds like MAGA.

Who says we are far left? Not everyone supporting Palestine is far left.

Vast majority are, per the polls.

Most R's strongly support Israel's response: https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2023/12/08/americans-views-of-the-israel-hamas-war/
