George Floyd is dead. He was murdered. He is not committing violence. This has nothing to do with his memory and everything to do with his murderer. |
You are clueless. But even these guys get it: At a nearby Metro PCS, an African American man who identified himself only as Frank guarded his store with his employees and friends. “We want to see peace prevail, but tensions are high right now,” he said. “The pain and the things people are feeling right now is rooted for years.” Frank’s childhood friend Joe, a graduate student at Metropolitan State University standing guard with him, said: “This ain’t anger — this is pain. This is the type of stuff we need to address in the black community. They need to stop the brutality against black people.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/05/28/minneapolis-protests-george-floyd-death/ (7:02pm update) |
I seriously doubt the killers got their homes burnt. Try again. |
This isn't "the government" committing abuses. it was 4 bad cops. "The government" is condemning the cops' actions. If I saw this in another country in response to the killing of a man, I would think those burning businesses, looting businesses, and destroying the city were like terrorists. |
What is wrong with you? Why are you trying to cause people pain? What do you get out of continuing to try to provoke me? |
No arrests. Cops told to stand down, instead of protecting innocent brown people, and their city. The Police Chief's OATH to "protect and defend" seems to be null and void. |
The only idiot is the one who thinks business losses are a bigger issue than police brutality. |
There are a few idiots on here who actually condone the looting and arson, as long as it’s not their property of course. |
The cops are the government you fool. Why do you think those bystanders could do nothing but watch and beg as this man was executed? Because the laws make it so. Why do you think these men aren't in jail tonight? Because the government is protecting them. Why is a family grieving tonight? Because a man was murdered in the custody of the government. This goes well beyond 4 cops. This is an epidemic of state sanctioned violence perpetrated against black bodies. |
It’s not an either or situation, dummy. You can be against both. And opposing the looting and arson which could easily have killed numerous other people and in fact DID result in another man’s death does not mean that one is valuing property over human life. But you seem stubborn and lacking in critical thinking skills so it is really no wonder that you can’t comprehend this. |
Go crawl in a hole and stop antagonizing people here. We see your racism for what it is. |
I'm the person who wrote that this is political violence. Some people are truly evil, but others are desperate and the difference is obvious. In this case-- let's just keep it real here and say what we mean-- the black population of Minneapolis doesn't routinely riot and loot. This is in response to an event. Stimulus and response. And the stimulus wasn't just that a cop accidentally killed someone. He knelt on the neck of a man, crying out for his mom and begging for his life, as a crowd gathered and begged the cop to stop. And the cop hasn't been arrested for what is clearly a murder. So if you are black in Minneapolis, do you feel safe on the streets? Absolutely not. So why should Minneapolis be able to keep up a reputation of being a safe place when it's not? These rioters have a clear goal, which is to force the government to arrest the murderer so that the people of Minneapolis can be safe. The solution is obvious. |
And they've destroyed the livelihoods of innocent people, torched their homes, cars and businesses. Even killed a man. All for the sake of safety. Knock it off. They did it to destroy and take. That's what they did and why they did it. |
