Must be tennisism. |
|
Shut down the men but don't defend boorish behavior by women.
|
There are a million examples of men doing the same, why is it this one event you use to teach your children? |
Yeah if you watch tennis this happens weekly and I’m not exaggerating and it’s usually men. Why did you picked Serena as the example? |
Serena is more conspicuous because she’s female, black and dominant in the sport. Unfortunately, any missteps get amplified. White males get more of a pass. Heck, it’s like this in lots of workplaces where there are few POC. |
DP, meant to add. |
if you are talking about tennis players they absolutely do not get a pass. no tennis player has ever been praised for lashing out on umpires. most crowds will boo as soon as a player starts complaining about anything, even if it's justified. |
|
In case you guys missed it, this is Osaka on Ellen > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_UdFZKtDJA. Osaka's adorableness spills over @ the 3:45 minute of the video. Didn't know much about her before the Open, but I am absolutely love her spirit!
We all know Serena's a living legend - she has worked hard to get where she is today. No one can take that away from her. I saw a funny statement on Twitter the other day that was directed at her detractors: "Serena Williams is better at tennis than you are at whatever you are best at." Yep. Pretty much. |
Serena did not bring race into this. Everyone else did. |
| I am upset she took the spotlight away from Osaka. What a sour loser!! |
No one in Naomi’s camp is complaining. She got the title, the payday and people are still taking about her a week later and will do so years to come. Many more people know about her with Serena’s outburst than would have known about her without. |
So, she should thank Senera?? That's a morbid analogy but whatever.
|
So if someone is doing better than you in some areas, you can not criticize that person’s behavior? In that logic, only the super rich is eligible to criticize Donald Trump. |
Morbid? Analogy? Get a dictionary. The bolded statement is neither. Another fact: Naomi Osaka does not need or want your pity. |
This is SO wrong. Victims shouldn't have to thank the attackers because the attackers made them famous. Are you a f'king idiot or what? |
