NCS Parents - "I wish I had known x" type advice.

I think it is real stretch to apply the NY Times article to DCUM. The anonymous nature of DCUM runs counter to the feedback described and many make confused guesses as to the identity of those who post here ( as you did).

If parents don't want to know what is really going on at NCS they should avoid threads like this.

I completely agree with this. It is also beginning to look like the problem is the parents (mothers) at NCS based on the way they've been carrying on on this board.

I posted the second comment. I do not have a daughter at NCS currently, but will be looking at the school next year- that is why I am following this thread. The biggest turn off so far have been the parents bickering on this board. It is starting to seem like some of the parents of these girls are contributing to the very problem they wish to solve.

Very little of the bickering is from actual NCS parents.

Always keep in mind that it could be 1-2 people having a long, drawn-out argument. Take everything on this ANONYMOUS INTERNET BOARD with a grain of salt.

As an uninterested bystander, I'd say at least 50% of the bickering is from NCS parents. People (indeed many from NCS) post comments critical of NCS, and other people supporting NCS (who I can only assume are NCS parents) respond to defend NCS and attack the criticizers.

Ahhh. The quiet of summer in D.C. This thread has been dormant for an entire week! All those NCS bashers and NCS defenders have all departed to summer elsewhere. Hooray.

Anybody want to start a pool on how long PP will keep bumping this thread up? We could do this different ways - how many bumps, how many weeks, other suggestions. Winner gets a plastic DCUM trophy.

How effective is the Spanish teaching in the lower school?

Can someone do this for the Class of 2013?

Can someone describe the middle school play experience. Is it fun? How much of a time commitment is it? Is there a discerable drama clique?

They learn a lot, have fun, and get to interact with boys from STA. A highlight of the MS experience for my DD.

I have no connection to NCS, but I'm interested, and here's what seems to be happening if you plow through multiple pages of this thread. Two posters have identified themselves as a disgruntled alumna and a disgruntled parent. These two post negatively again and again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.

There is definitely more than one disgruntled parent on this thread because I'm one and certainly didn't post all those posts.
