Where shall the teachers and staff park?

That's the figure it out part.

This was obviously a big and unusual storm and and the parking lots are not in any shape to be used right now. I wish they could have all been cleaned up on Sunday night when the storm ended but that could not happen for obvious reasons.

Does anyone have any updates on their school's parking lots?

I'm going to guess that the limiting factor after our Sleetzilla storm are the icy snowplow walls that people are having a hard time digging out of. Many people's cars are stuck in their driveways. Otherwise, it seems to me that most roads should be passable by tomorrow morning, if they keep working on side streets today and tonight.

+100.

Our driveway is fine and road is fine but 3 foot mountain of snow plow ice has blocked us in

Hallie Wells is untouched.

The sleet on top of 5-9 inches of snow and the cold weather has made it a challenging clean up.

Call Wednesday and Thursday off.

Provide food pick up spots.

I can understand all perspectives but when dealing with ice and uncleared spots safety has to be the priority. Very different than just snow.

Yeah this is not just us. Half
The country is digging out and from what I can tell, states up north are struggling too.

Telllllll people, MCPS. I know they said 4pm but no one can possibly think they are going to get schools dug out by tomorrow. Let people know, especially since many are wondering about childcare.

+1 I am someone who thinks MCPS has messed up big time in the past but the conditions are not good and clearing all this will take time. Not expecting child care to open anytime soon.

It's Tuesday. The county has made good progress on plowing. Why would you call off Thursday already? The roads will be in good enough shape for school on Thursday- the only question is whether MCPS can get the schools ready.

That's obviously questionable. I see they still haven't touched our elementary school except for the plowing they did on Sunday.

Not sure what you mean. In a lot of ways, this situation is easier than the usual situation we find ourselves in. We're not worried about ice reforming because it is staying cold. The wind isn't carrying snow back over cleared areas. That simplifies things greatly.

Things can be hard on different ways. We have the equivalent of 20 inches of snow on the ground but condensed into a hard packed hybrid of snow and ice that is very heavy and takes time and force to break up.

Wednesday will be closed. This is obvious.

I'm hoping for a 2hr delay on Thursday and open on Friday.

I think closed on Thursday and two hour delay on Friday.

A delay the following Monday uis also likely.

Our street is still not plowed. I walked by a car stuck on a street near us that had a "one pass" by a plow. There is no way there is school tomorrow.

(Rockville HS cluster before someone chimes in about Bethesda rich people)

Seven Locks student drop off loop/parking lot and Churchill parking lots are untouched. Didn't even see anyone out there working on it. Just drove by both.
