This along with every thread in politics is a great example of what missing. Compromise. If the “sides” could work together and accept compromise, we’d have a moderate and functional government. If you’re voting for politicians who proudly don’t compromise, you are creating this mess. |
He hasn't dismantled anything. But yeah, a nuke might. |
OMG. I think I’m with you. Prior to Thursday evening, this would have been unthinkable. I’m so shook. |
Lol and the pp who suggested that really believes “not that far gone” is acceptable for our president! wtf! |
Same here. It defies reality to think that the NYT went from “Biden is fine” to “replace him in an undemocratic process” in a week. They’ve been lying and covering. And of course that opens the question about what else they’ve been lying about. |
Question to republicans or independent: I am not going to switch to Foxnews. I am already following some foreign news stations (Australian, BBC, Al Jazzeera, and few other). What news stations that are fairly unbiased (even if they are right leaning)? |
One of the few things that Trump said during the debate that did stand out in a fair way was that under his presidency, the world was far more at peace. There was no Ukraine war, there was no Hamas genocidal attack on Israel, there was no belligerent Iran. For all the hysteria about Trump, it was media driven and among the Democrats, but day to day life was pretty good, economy was growing with wages outpacing inflation, and we had no wars overseas. Trump himself was a disaster in many ways but it was on a personal and organizational level, but he by and large pretty much left Americans alone. When COVID hit, that was the perfect time for Trump to seize quasi-dictatorial power, but he didn't. He was attacked for not doing enough even though he stayed within the boundaries of presidential powers and left most matters to the states, where it really did constitutionally belong. And the blue state Democrats had far more severe shutdowns and remote learning than the red states even though as it turned out, with no difference in outcomes. Accusing Trump for wanting to dismantle democracy is hypocritical given that he won his primaries fair and square, he may have petulantly refused to engage in the debates but he still won the voters fair and square. Contrast that to the Democrats, who cancelled primaries in a bunch of states and fiercely shut down potential competition like Dean Phillips and RFK jr. That doesn't sound democratic to me! |
Stand by our President |
Why? |
Jokes aside, I am really scared what steps Russia, China and Iran might take in the next 6 month. |
I'd place him at about stage 5 or 6 dementia.
The slack jawed look is a symptom. Frequently he stares with his mouth hanging open. When this happens the brain area that tells the mouth to close is not working. Jill helping Joe to traverse the 1 step down from the debate stage after the debate illustrated another symptom from stage 5 or 6 dementia. Joe's legs are strong enough to go up and down steps. As dementia progresses your brain loses the ability to process spatial changes. A stage hand or assistant ran up to Joe and Jill and ran his shoe over the floor to shoe Joe that the surface was solid. Someone with mid stage dementia will have concerns and hesitation walking on shiny surface as their brain does not interpret the floor as solid. Jill, even with high heels, was able to traverse the one step and her normal brain told her the shiny floor was solid. |
Thanks, doc. Going to take my chances with Joe over the crazed felon. |
and you weren’t worried when Trump was president? |
omg, Trump handled covid effectively? covid amnesia again. He stood at the podium everyday, combatant with the press for dare asking questions and the audacity of one reporter to ask how what to say to scared Americans. And then said to drink bleach and take a horse dewormer. Total disgrace. |
