In the case of the FCV coaches who are trying to convince FCV players to move over to Revolution, they’re telling them that Revolution will waive their club fees for the spring so families aren’t paying twice. Which is, of course, what you’d expect (and demand) from a club that’s trying to get you to move before the season is over.

That seems like a great way for revolution to drown in legal fees

How would they be drowning in legal fees? AB is that you?

Full rosters to play for Revolutions or FCV?

Is it scummy behavior? Yep. I would even say borderline unethical. But as for whether what the now and soon-to-be former FCV coaches are doing in trying to "poach" players from TSJ FCV to come over to Revolution is a violation of anything in their individual contracts (for those still technically employed), only TSJ knows that. And at this point, I'm pretty confident that they're aware of what's going on "behind the scenes" with their former staff.

Also 2012 parent - Regardless of the loose speculation, we are seeing this season through. The girls and families are fantastic. Too bad for all of them, really - They lose in the politics and business dealings.

This phenomenon isn’t new - played out in other areas of the country. Bottom line - Families and kids will follow coaches, even to lesser leagues. Heresy I know (ECNL kool aide drinkers…). I’ve seen it. GA means the same as ECNL if your club finishes bottom of the tables, with no national appearances, terrible atmosphere - Ya vote with your feet. To think an GA, NL or RL badge on a shoulder for a sub par team is where folks would go… laughable.

If they are still drawing pay checks, it's not contractural unless the contracts allow for double dealing.

Has there been any news on GA at VRSC for next season? If CC hopes to grab any FCV GA players, doesn’t he need to have GA in the next week or so given that ID sessions are about to begin?

Why would CC need FCV GA players to attend an ID session? He’s very well acquainted with those players already. And it’s not like they’re going to be selective. They just need to convince enough players to come over so that they can field a “legitimate” team in each age group under the Revolution name. Outside of those FCV GA players, Revolution has no GA level talent of their own. They’re a cellar dweller in EDP and NCSL, after all. If the GA accepted them based on their existing teams, they’d make BRAVE look like a World Cup contender!

They would only need a handful of FCV players to come over to be decent in GA. There are a LOT of bad GA teams. Those handful of players wouldn’t need to wait or show up at ID sessions just let them know of interest and pay the fees.

GA Mid-Atlantic isn't a walk in the park by any means.

If the GA rumors are true for VRSC, FCV would be in for a full rebuild. I can't imagine any families remain with them after this debacle.

New rumor is that Lawyers from GA, FCV, and VRSC have began a pissing match and it could be a long stream. Nobody wins this. Lack of fields for FCV, VRSC probably won’t get GA next season and GA just keeps adding crappy clubs.

Imagine if GA loses Tophat or Michigan Nationals or some of its other top clubs to ECNL this year. Stick a fork in them. They done!

Makes sense that it would become a legal battle. VRSC gaining access to GA is coming into a market that FCV served. FCV would be finished if that occurs.

And the FCV families/players become collateral damage in all of this.

This rumor sounds like something you just invented.

Even if they want to follow CC, I can’t imagine any FCV GA players skipping ID sessions at the ECNL clubs or passing on an offer from one of them if he can’t definitively say VRSC has GA. So it’s not that CC needs to run ID sessions for former FCV GA players, it’s that VRSC needs GA before the ECNL clubs start holding their ID sessions.
