| Just my two cents, but as long as the adult has the experience coaching the game, can relate to teenagers, parents and can lead a program in an ethical manner, who cares if they are a parent or not. There’s much more to what I just noted |
| Anyone have a real update here? Is it really a parent coach? |
Word is that it will be two dads who are both extremely accomplished lacrosse players in their own right. I know one of them has coached some of the Visi girls on the side and has their respect. They have played very well thus far in tournaments and my guess is the search for a permanent coach is in the works (unless these two stay which would be great but I don’t think it is realistic). |

Shortsighted solution by the lame AD
Visi can’t even attract full time coaches because hardly has resources for their coaches. Expect a massive fall off after this senior class graduates. |
What are you suggesting? Coaching situation will cause girls to leave? Trying to connect the dots on your statement. |
NP but it also may cause girls to pick another school if on the fence between two and if you don't replace the graduating seniors with similar talent, there is a drop off. Many girls/families at high levels, that have the means, want a stable coach to help their girls improve. While many HS coaches are not that impactful, the top schools are. Depending on their choices and/or location: SSSAS, SR, GC - all have stable head coaches and coaching staffs with proven track records that are an extra benefit in recruiting. DD attends one of the 3 mentioned and the school she committed to also contacted her HS coach as well as club because the coach is also connected. |
| This is very accurate. In our area, the club coach and recruiting director make all of the difference for college, except if you attend one of the 3 schools mentioned above. For some players, the HS coaches at these schools do the bulk of the recruiting relationships. |
| You’re positive these coaches are an extra benefit? |
BI’s best run was when they had a parent coach. |
Considering DD's HS coach helped drive her recruiting and was the first one to reach out to us about the school she ultimately committed to? Yes, I am. |
+110%. Every child and their recruiting journey is different. For our older DD (graduated in last 2-4 years), her coach was a material difference maker, especially because DD missed some camps and club season due to injury. |
There's a lot to be considered in selecting a high school and, for most, grabbing a D1 roster spot isn't top on the list. If SSSAS fits your needs otherwise as well as other schools then by all means view KJ as a good tiebreaker. If not, none of the other HS programs in the area are going to help with placement. And, even if one of those three is on your radar, a better academic fit and an attentive recruiting director at your club will more than make up for the potential bump from playing at SSSAS, SR or GC. |

I guess whoever posted all along that Visi would get a dad coach was spot on.
And now we have to wait and see how it goes. |
HS coaches have more of an insight as to how they act during the spring season and how they handle academics in season. They actually see the player more in a similar environment than a club coach because they are with the player 5-6 days/week. |
Granted, but they aren't often proactive in recruiting. |
