Let's say you just folded a pile of laundry, each family member has a smattering of unmatched socks. Where do they go?
Do you put each person's unmatched socks in their sock drawer? In a commingled box of unmatched socks to be checked over after each laundry folding? |
Put them in one big unmatched socks pile and dig through it when I have time to pair. Which I never so. So sometimes we wear clean mismatched socks.
|
| We all have all identical socks so this never happens. |
| Matching socks? Who does this? |
You are a genius. So do I throw out the entire family's sock stash and start from scratch? My kids are still young (6 and 8) so they're growing. Is it still worth it? |
Op here. My kids often go to school with mismatched socks. They don't care, but at some point I should, right? |
It's what I did. Ordered them, threw out all the socks when they arrived, then slowly threw out all the ones I missed. Never looking back. I did replace kid socks with the same type/brand the first time but a size up and that made things a little trickier (trying to find all the 2/3s) so not sure if I would do that part the same again |
Went to work today in mismatched socks. Was wondering if my boss noticed. |
I do. My daughter does. Neither of us ever lose socks. Sometimes one sock gets a hole and then its buddy is lonely but we don't LOSE socks. |
| The socks go into a box for 'missed connections.' If, after a month, a proper mate cannot be found, then the socks are banished to the trash can. |
My boss noticed once. I was a 24 year old childless server. Was not fired. |
There are maybe a dozen occasions per year when you should care. |
| I collect them on top of the dryer then use them to dust the blinds. |
| Feed them to the washing machine. |
That is amazing that you don't lose them. I honestly don't know where they go. They're not under the bed. My kids don't take them off in public, but a good 8 single socks per person are leftover after Months of laundry. |
