Enough bitching about MCPS – the U.S. Postal Service is at the top of my shit list right now. We have not gotten mail since last Thursday. Our front walk is clear all the way to the front door – dry stones even. No one is picking up at our local post office. I don't think I've laid eyes on a mail carrier in days. How long are we expected to go without mail delivery? The trash trucks I can almost understand, but this is getting ridiculous.

Me too
Same here. We even cleared a walking path to our mailbox, but I think the mail delivery guy is refusing until he can drive right up to ours again. AKA it might be a month. I'm out in the suburbs in a valley and we got super heavy snow. It's bad.
We're getting some two obligatory pieces when we usually get a huge stack of mail and boxes daily. I predict an avalanche today maybe.

Yes, I'm wondering the same thing. We're in Vienna. The weird thing is that we got mail on Monday, but nothing since then.
The other weird thing is that even though we have the driveway and sidewalk shoveled, the mailman still tromped diagonally through our yard in the route he usually takes from house to house. Where the snow was still 24" deep. |
LOL. I'm in DC and I'm getting my mail. Guess services aren't always better in the burbs.
Springfield Va here and mail has resumed since on or about Tuesday.
Pretty excited to not have mail delivery!!! It's like getting rid of the landline and the telemarketers stop calling. 99% of our mail was junk mail (even though we're on the do not mail registry).
Just your local office. We were on vacation through Sunday, but our flight was canceled. We got regular mail on Tuesday, but our held mail (which was scheduled to be delivered Monday) was delivered on Wednesday. We've had regular mail every day but Monday.
I'm in Potomac and have been getting my mail.
Started back up yesterday. Guess their motto "neither rain, nor sleet..." is no longer valid.
I am in Silver Spring, and this is the third day I have gotten mail.
We were told, by a friend who works at USPS in another part of the country, to clear out enough room so the mail carrier could drive up to the mailbox in his usual fashion. It was a PITA, but we did it. We've had mail since Tuesday.
I'm in DC and got some mail today but it's dated over a week ago. Nothing recent. |
Do you all live in very suburb-y-cul-de-sac-ish areas? Besides Monday, we've had mail/packages delivered all week in Old Town Alex.
