More deflection. Anything to take attention from the fact that Miranda Turner is all tied up in APE's School Board recall efforts. |
But they do seem to putting an awful lot of effort into trying to deflect and distract people from this issue. |
That's not what I meant. It's pretty clear that they all have a relationship, but framing it as a "scarily well organized operation" is so hyperbolic. I'm not involved with APE or SR because the rhetoric on both sides is so DESPERATE. I really think some of you need to step back and take a deep breath. |
Well, people seem to be attributing APE husband's FOIA to his wife and Miranda, so *shrugs* |
By "people" you mean the APE trolls who are attacking the messenger who exposed their sordid little plot to recall the school board.
a little awkward for Miranda to be associated with this. And not so good for APE either. That's why they are trying to run from it now. |
Are you for real? Go back and re-read this thread. There are quotes from AEM of MT saying there is no APE recall effort and at any rate, she wouldn't support is as effective at this time. |
By the way, EHN, who is one of the leaders of APE's recall efforts (the one in the screen shot) is business partners with JS, the very Republican head of the OpenFCPS group. Check out JS on twitter if you want to read some seriously unhinged sh*t.

Re-re-reposting MT's comments re: the so-called recall efforts:
BE: thanks for your questions. APE has on several occasions noted that there is no "APE lawsuit," and I've posted in this forum about it as well. As a candidate for School Board, I support measures which would return APS to in-person instruction for more days this school year, for those families and children who need/want it. I don't support measures that don't advance that cause, and you may count in that category the lawsuit and the recall. Finally, as several have already noted, neither the lawsuit or the recall are backed by APE (nor the Republican party to my knowledge, though I'm a Democrat). |
Sure she realizes it's toxic now and is desperately trying to back away. That's just cleanup because they got exposed. I saw the screen shot of EHN saying APE is planning a recall effort. We all saw it. |
You can keep repeating this as though it's true. EHN has been brash since the beginning and PUBLICLY LEFT APE IN A BLAZE OF GLORY months ago. Shouldn't that speak for itself? EHN is not the same as APE. She doesn't speak for the group. Never has. |
The only thing I care about is hypocrisy, and both sides are full of it.
Miranda needs step away from APE and become a candidate for all parents of Arlington. You can still advocate for opening schools more whatever, but she really needs to step off of the steering committee SR/BE really messed up. They brought Mary Kadera into their drama with APE. She had to effin address it publicly. She can very well lose because of it. I don't care if it was a steering committee member or one of SR's supporters who created it. BE should have just leaked the letter if he felt so compelled to without that awful Twitter account. Why he even felt the need to one up APE is shrug too. I hope that account stays locked. |
Untrue. She may have left briefly but she's very much part of the APE group now. Didn't you see the screen shot of her post to Open FCPS saying APE is planning a recall effort and requesting assistance so they don't have to reinvent the wheel? |
APE STEERING MEMBER HERE - Our Facebook page is not our official anything, it’s a group of 900 people and a forum for them to vent, talk, debate, come up with advocacy ideas etc. APE is NOT doing a recall, it was discussed by parents on the page but it is not an APE effort. You will note we don’t have it on our website nor our enewsletter - those are where you will find our efforts. Feel free to check it out! If folks want to pursue a recall (something allowed in a free democracy if a voter wants to pursue) that’s up to them. We also did not help nor support the lawsuit (again something one is free to do in America). We have addressed this about a thousand times and it’s getting extremely old. We also moderate our page and do not put up with bullying, harassment or any sort of doxing. That accusation also needs to stop. We wouldn’t allow someone to post memes of an apes yelling or jokes about people getting COVID like AEM, we don’t even allow screen shots of Twitter accounts. Our Twitter gets screen shot by trolls and then gross things like these people should just get au pairs are said and now screen shots of individuals discussing a perfectly legal (but not endorsed or run or planned by APE) effort and coming to this page to accuse us like we are planning some sort of insurrection need to take a deep breath. We write speeches, we send post cards, we do newsletters - we are not funded by outside sources. We care a lot, our kids are struggling, we are surrounded by open private schools and over 60% of the country open five days a week. We just want what they have. It’s not some deeper or scary conspiracy. But thanks for calling us scarily well run operation or whatever was said earlier, take it as a compliment. (And no we don’t do weekly meetings, ain’t nobody got time for that)
I will also note yet again that we have never advocated for virtual to go away this year. Virtual families are the ONLY ones who have gotten a choice. I’m quite sure if they had been forced back in, in the fall they would have advocated just like we did for our kids to have the choice of in-person. |

Ooh, can you say more about that? I knew she had left APE but missed it when it happened. I have no interest in either group, but I do have an interest in gossip. ![]() |
