I think he’s mentally ill. He’s a rabid man, attacking kids like that and lunging at other strangers. |
His statement admits he did it. |
Given the attention span of people on social media, the wrongly suspected are already forgotten. Their mobbing was shameful indeed, and each social media platform should react quicker to monitor posters. |
Why would you do that pp? You’re just creating at best an unpleasant situation, at worst risking an accident. Do you check before doing that what’s going on behind your back? May be there is a group coming up behind you, may be there is someone also walking in front of cyclist at a distance? The fact that a cyclist may be annasshole and threading a needle is not a reason for you to act the same way. Just like defensive driving is best, defensive cycling and defensive walking on trail is also better to minimize impact of other users mistakes. Your attitude is all wrong and you are just as bad as the cyclist. |
I'm in my lane. If there's a group coming from behind, they should not be attempting to go in between. They should only proceed to pass when the other lane is totally and completely clear. As long as the cyclist is obeying trail rules and etiquette, there is no issue. If they get into an accident, they have no one to blame but themselves. Travel in the right lane, pass on the left when it's completely clear. And yes, when I pass someone as a runner/walker, I always look and clear both directions to make sure there's ample room to pass. |
Pp. Technically you are, but realistically you are acting like a motorist who is going exactly speed limit in the left lane and refuses to budge. |
Where's HIS statement? |
I am from another state, and in that area, pedestrians walk on the left and cyclists to the right...no different than a street. This allows pedestrians to see if a bike is approaching and move over to give them room vs. having them come out of nowhere from behind and catching pedestrian no time to react. I have had many a pompous cyclist scare the sh## out of me passing to my right with no warning at high speeds and no room. |
No, it's nothing like that. I'm in the right lane - the lane I am SUPPOSED to be in. A more appropriate analogy would be a cyclist "taking the lane" on a road, for the sake of their safety. So I'm taking the whole (right) lane, for the sake of my safety. |
Another crazy dude from Silver Spring area.
What does he do for living? Looks like a lawyer. |
Why is a grown man picking a fight with kids? |
Kensington is Silver Spring? Learn something new every day, I tell you. |
If you actually read the news, you would learn that: 1. he is not a lawyeer 2. he is from Kensington https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/police-have-a-strong-suspect-in-case-of-bicyclist-accused-of-assaulting-teens-posting-fliers-on-a-montgomery-county-trail-official-says/2020/06/05/1cc57c0c-a752-11ea-b619-3f9133bbb482_story.html

The apology is bunk. No one just snaps and attacks, rages like this out of the blue for the first time ever. I'm sure he's had many raging encounters - on the trail, on the road, with people he knows... this is just the first time he got caught and is being held accountable. |
