Get tested. |
No |
If everyone with a similar situation were getting tested, we would have a lot more Positives. |
Yes, and if you need something call a friend/neighbor/coworker to bring it to you. If none of them will help call your city council, local health department, clinic....there are support networks around. Come here and tell us what you need and we will help you get it. |
I’m honestly not sure he can get tested! On Monday, his doctor said he couldn’t even if he wanted to. We will see what they say tomorrow. |
Honestly, the time for testing is over. Even if they could test everyone no one is doing the follow up tracing that is also required to contain this. No one is getting tested and we can no longer contain this because our government is incompetent. This is up to us and state/local leadership, such as it is. ISOLATE YOURSELF IF YOU ARE SICK. I get not everyone can do that but if you can swing it, do it. Every little bit helps right now. |
+1. Self quarrel time for 2 weeks- its the only way. |
What if you and the kids aren’t sick, but spouse is? |
You are all exposed. Prepare for all to be sick. Make plans now. |
Any update? My husband is in a similar situation. Cough, low grade fever, tired. Tested negative for flu. I don’t think he could get tested even if he wanted to because he hasn’t traveled recently and has no known contact with someone who has tested positive. It would be nice to rule this out, but do not think we can, so he’s been staying home from work and just limiting his contact with the kids. I doubt he has covid-19 but a confirmation would put me at ease. |
“It's fair to say that, as the trajectory of the outbreak continues, many people in the United States will at some point in time, either this year or next, be exposed to this virus and there's a good chance many will become sick," Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said earlier this week.
“This seems to be a disease that affects adults and most seriously older adults," Messonnier said. "Starting at age 60, there is an increasing risk of disease and the risk increases with age." |

I heard this as well, but they continue to trot out the "risk to the average American is low" at this time. I feel like a frog being boiled. It'll be low until it's not. Heck the WHO head --Tedros said it wouldn't get out of China back in January. Last week he said to take severe measures NOW! |
Not sure - probably depends if it subsides over the summer (no one knows if it will), but it will likely keep circulating until we build up herd immunity and vaccinations. Although it will likely mutate over time and may come back in waves over time as immunity wanes. |
