Why is that ok, but Don Jr and co traitors?

Trump Jr. is being transparent with his emails.

HRC bleachbit her emails

Comey still hasn't turned in his memos to congress.

Huge double standard here.

Notice the Libs don't have an answer.

Trump Jr. lied lied lied. Trump's admin is full of liars, with the biggest liar at the helm.

If HRC's team had done this, you Trumpsters would be all over it.

Steele was an ally; Russians aren't. You are all traitors.

Steele was the ally of his payday.

Steele is a foreign national.

1. Stele is not a foreign government
2. He did not give the oppo research away. He was paid for it
3. Even given 1&2, it was still slimy. Not as limy as a golden shower. But slimy.

Steele is a foreign national, just like this lawyer.

Oppo research is oppo research, and Trump jr said she had none.

Steele's dossier contained info that may indicate that Trump may be an easy target for extortion by a hostile government; Russians found some of DNC's emails that showed how the DNC was colluding within its own ranks.

The former is a much bigger deal than the latter.

Once again, you Trumpsters miss the point entirely. It's not about whether he got the info. It's about the fact that he met with her to see if he could get it.

...of an ally. Unlike the Russian lawyer.

Don didn't meet with a rep from the Russian gov.

Your narrative is false

I hate having to fight over facts but did you read the emails published today???? I suggest you go read it first.

Don Jr thought she was a Russian Government lawyer .. it does not matter what she really is .. It what she thought she was when he went to meet her.

If she wasn't a Russian gov lawyer there's no issue. Despite your desires.

Its not clear to me if it was actually a violation of US Code on campaign funds from foreign entities. I think thats debatable, since the intent to break it was there.

But its clearly an "issue" How did we get to the point that only proof of lawbreaking is an "issue"? Is that draining the swamp?

Clearly there was dishonesty, lying, and likely a cover up. This may have violated the law. It may also be tied to other larger activities.

"Let me be clear, also - whether it was the Russian government or a Russian national - it is still illegal under the campaign finance laws because they prevent foreign nationals from spending money related to a federal election or contributing anything of value to a campaign."

Wow are you wrong. Very, very wrong. Stupid, or wishful thinking? You clearly aren't a lawyer. Don't pretend to play one on DCUM.

Also when you get busted for soliciting an undercover cop posing as a hooker or trying to buy drugs from and undercover cop drug dealer, don't expect to get very far with, "but you aren't really a criminal. So no harm, no foul."

Did this lawyer work for the Russian gov?

It sure looks like it. Mueller will find out for sure.

Have you never seen to catch a predator? Where it isn't really a young girl chatting, but rather a government employee posing? The perv still gets arrested and charged. It doesn't matter that there is no real girl.

Election support. An email dump. A bot army. And quite possibly money.

I can only imagine how people's heads would explode if Chelsea Clinton met with a Russian operative to receive damaging information about Donald Trump on behalf of the Russian government.

Yes, they do. There is a big difference in hiring a private consultant and surreptitiously trading favors with a foreign government.

I agree that seeking the Steele dossier (initiated by Republicans, as you noted) is unseemly and disgraceful, but it is does not create obligations to a hostile foreign government.

Wait, Steele is a private consultant, and Goldstone is part of Russian government? Who represented the Russian government here?

Natalia Veselnitskaya may not actually have been a Russian Govt employee, but she appears to have worked with the russian govt, and more importantly, TrumpJr, Manafort, and Kushner THOUGHT the info she had was from the Russian Govt.

But in fact, she was not a Russian government lawyer nor was she representing them.

The email states clearly that the information is coming from the Russian government. Is that true? We don't know yet. But the important part is that the Trump family (Don Jr), White House officials (Jared) AND campaign (Manafort) all thought they were going to meet with a Russian contact to get dirt on Hillary as part of the Russian government support for Trump. It LITERALLY, incredibly, is all in the email.

Where did Steele get his info from?

Russian government of course.

And, you know this happened as a result of this meeting? You are absolutely crazy. You are so desperate to prove your verdict that you are in search of evidence that isn’t there.

Unclear at this point with regard to this specific meeting. But the point is that Junior was so super psyched to receive anything that the Russians had that he was scurrying around Trump Tower rustling up Kushner and Manafort at a moment's notice to meet with someone who was advertised as a Russian government lawyer who had damaging information about his father's opponent. Opposition research absolutely has value.

Republican heads would explode and Democrats would say it is a nothing burger ............ sort of the inverse of what is happening here.
