Did you make this much of a stir when Obama was deporting 3 million people? I remember a time when Dems were for deporting illegal immigrants regardless of whether they were criminals or not. I want those Dems back. |
The average American voter notices that their paycheck doesn't cover as much as it used to That is what they notice the most. Come on Trump send back the tariff money to us that you stole |
The murder rate in DC is down literally 63% compared to last year. This is the DCUM forum. How can you say it was better to live in a place with a 63% worse murder rate? https://mpdc.dc.gov/dailycrime Moreover, even mainstream like the Washington Post are reporting that crime is down nationwide by staggering margins. How is this not a good thing? |
Did Obama have storm troopers disrupting the daily lives of Americans? Did Obama rip children away from their parents? Did Obama deport people here legally? No? Then, no stir necessary. |
It was already on a downward trajectory from when trump left office in 2021. The continuing improvement has nothing to do with more federal presence. |
Ok, this is wishful thinking. Not everyone is stupid, you know. She made Trump look like the child he is. |
Crime's SUBSTANTIALLY up in the White House, though. |
Lmao…this is like saying, “omg you guys didn’t have any problems with air-fuel mixtures when used in internal combustion engines, but NOW you are making a big fuss about it because it’s being used in napalm?!” |

Boy oh boy, we’re lucky we have a country,
We’re lucky to have a country. They call it affordability. Remembah Ford? It was a car. Henry Ford, he was one of the greats, The great Henry J. Ford. |
The average voter in America is indeed stupid and shallow. People are stupid and shallow in general. How else do you think George Bush and Donald Trump got elected or that people cared more about Clinton playing the saxophone on Arsenio Hall than eviscerating the welfare system? |
You know you can actually see year by year murder numbers at the bottom of that page that was linked right? There were 116 murders in 2017, in the 200s from 2021 to 2023 (peaking with 274 in 2023). In 2025 it dropped drastically to 127 and we are on pace to be way below 100 by year end (we have 10 murders year to date). As someone who lives and works in DC I am not going to slight this progress. If the 2026 murder totals are less than 88 it will be the lowest murder rate in DC since at least the 1970s. |
MAGA said we couldn't trust local police crime stats or MSM sources, so I don't know what to believe about crime stats. But even if you believe crime is much lower, have you considered the cost? And whether or not it is sustainable? If you believe it's due to the presence of the NG in DC, consider these stats: *The NG mission costs roughly $1.1 million to $1.65 million daily. *Over $330 million has been spent on the NG deployment to DC in the first seven months. *The cost could exceed $600 million if extended through August 2026, which is comparable to the entire annual operating budget of the DC Metro police department. If you believe it's due to the "surge" of federal officers reassigned to DC duty, well that costs approximately $1 million per day for the "proactive collaboration" of federal agencies, including the FBI, DEA, ATF, and U.S. Marshals. And if these agents are working on crime in DC, what are they NOT working on? |
Why are Dems such fiscal conservatives when it comes to staving off Black deaths? The NG has let to dozens more people not being killed and a murder rate so low that 2026 might be the lowest murder rate in DC in recorded history. I’d say not having a city that’s known as the murder capital of the world, like it was in the 90s when there were 500 murders a year, is a national security issue. I have no idea why this is a partisan issue and Dems would be happy with saying some money but having a dramatic uptick in murders. |
No one ever said not to trust murder stats though, unless your think the MPD is hiding dead bodies to lower DC’s murder rate to benefit Trump, which is truly an Alex Jones level conspiracy. |
Yes, you are making my point. Crime spiked under Trump and in the aftermath of COVID and is coming back to where it would have been if not for COVID. |
