SSFS also has veteran leaders and teachers who should be appreciated. There are many at SSFS who believe in the heart of the school and who go above and beyond. Let’s not forget them amidst the ongoing issues. |
The one RG left. |
What does the HR department do? It would seem employees would file complaints about personnel before departing… so many great teachers left. |

It was such a cult of personality that probably would not have done any good. |
You do realize that the HR Department is there to ensure the SCHOOL is in compliance? They are not there to support the employees. If you have ever had to file a complaint with HR you would understand the difference between caring for the individual and protecting the organization. I'm sure staff tried their best, but with RG in command I would assume the most HR would tell staff is "if you don't like it leave. |
RG also made it difficult to provide honest feedback. For families that withdrew he invited them to come together in a group mediated by him to provide feedback. I don’t see how anyone would feel comfortable providing possibly sensitive information regarding their grievances with the school in a group forum and with him sitting right there. |
Exactly right. |
Sounds like sunnier days are coming and we are staying for it! |
+1000 HR wasn’t even present when staff members were let go, neither was RG. RG didn’t even have the grace or dignity to speak directly to any of those staff members let go, yet he sent a lengthy email to the community and staff “holding them in the Light.” Give me a break. |
still hoping some teachers and others return |
All of this! |
I think unless you were there to see the day to day levels of toxicity, you can't really understand how this is a net positive for the community. Yes it will be hard work to go forward, but teaching young people has never been for the faint of heart. |

Bad experiences aside the truth is life moves on. Families who left may have signed contracts elsewhere or just mentally prepared their kids for a change and jerking them back (when it’s not even like the uncertainty is no longer there) isn’t really an option. Same for teachers, id expect many if not all to have new jobs by now. Folks have already commented on how unprofessional it is for staff to leave suddenly. We can’t expect teachers to leave a good faith new job to jump back here just because RG is gone. That wouldn’t be fair to their new employers beside the fact they may not want to come back into a mess. Ssfs problems are not even close to solved. It’s going to take years. Leadership changes. BOT changes. Enrollment to pick up and funding to increase. Stability will take time. What was broken in just a few years will take longer than that to fix. This is just practical reality. |
