Justices do not lose their First Amendment rights just because they sit on the Supreme Court. Also, you're making a significant assumption about the meaning of the flags and the intent in their display. Where is your objective evidence that Justice Alito or his wife support an overthrow of the U.S. Government?

If any Executive Branch employee ever hung out a "Stop the Steal" or other pro-Trump flag they would be subject to prosecution under the Hatch Act, likely subject to dismissal and disbarment from Federal service along with fines. Sam Alito sounds like a greasy middle schooler who will blame anyone else for his actions. Because Occam’s razor here is that someone who sympathizes with overthrowing the government showed that, across several weeks and two locations, including one when someone actually had to purchase a special flag.

None of which is a news story. She is not a scotus judge. The fact that the Post sat on this until election year tells you the reality of the situation - it’s a non issue being blown up in left wing circles to try to get people who are unenthusiastic about Biden’s performance to vote.
