Alito displayed a “stop the steal” symbol at his home

His wife probably hung it that way accidentally. Why is this even a story in 2024??

Yes, she “accidentally” hung a flag upside down *in response to a neighbor’s anti-trump sign*

I mean how pathetic do you have to be to come up with these excuses which are so ridiculous not even Alito is trying to use them.

This subforum really attracts the low quality bots

Look at the overly defensive and deflective posts in this thread. They know it's a terrible look.

Where are you posting from that you have this little knowledge about the volume of rules, ethics, and professional behavior that federal employees have to follow?

+1

It really is astonishing that this got so little attention.

Apparently you both do not understand the Hatch act. It’s not surprising since most don’t.

+1 they should be working to avoid every hint of impropriety due to the serious nature of their job.
Nobody trusts them any longer. It's a rot that needs to be excised.

Thank you very much. In the omnibus corrupt Supreme Court thread I said this is what your side would try as an excuse.

There are ethics requirements for judges— although it’s true they don’t really seem to apply to the Supreme Court.

But for any other judge at least it would be wrong for them to be making public political statements about issues that are coming before the court.

Pretty sure the ethical considerations only apply to the liberal justices. The fascist ones can do whatever they want.

There was no stop the steal sign. His wife hung the flag upside down (which is disgraceful).

Really? Defending free speech now is an excuse?

Anyways, here is link to the hatch act.

Please read it. Alito did nothing wrong.

Keep in mind, Gini Thomas actually participated in planning the insurrection. Remarkable times when two of the nine SC justices behaved traitorously and will be in position to rule on the insurrection leader's legal fate.

Their book of fairytales tells them that's how you deal with accountability. Even Adam blamed it on the woman.

So you're suggesting that they needed to add a bullet to cover federal employees supporting an insurrection? I'm not sure they had that much foresight that this was needed when pulling this legislation together.

There's free speech, and there's fomenting insurrection. You can't judge an insurrection when you identify with the insurrectionists.

And let’s not forget that officers were injured and one lost his life.

Alito and Thomas are both absolutely disgusting and unethical. If we were a functional democracy they’d both be off the bench for significant ethical violations, like taking free trips and gifts from individuals with cases before the court without disclosing.

But here again we see the GOP protecting the low class drips they put on the bench. That’s why we don’t get any fixes, because the GOP blocks it all.
