Which thread should I be posting in? |
Not sure why you have Prep at the top of the IAC. Did they do something extraordinary at NHSLS? Hilgartner can coach up the Prep kids, but I don't think he has had a chance to bring in anyone yet, so right now he is trying to "take yours and beat you with 'em, instead of taking his and beatin' you with 'em." |
GP has a pretty good fogo committed to no slouch Army. They now have an experienced goalie who should be much better than last year. They return their entire starting attack and a bunch of other starters and kids who had significant play time. Bullis should finish 2nd given the same criteria of a good goalie and an experienced fogo (s) plus enough on the field to win. Landon's fogo is constantly hurt and a brand new goalie and a bunch of new starters. They will be constantly playing with less possession time. STA has about 7 kids who can catch and throw and you need 10 on the field. Episcopal has about 5, SSSAS has about 4. |
| Bullis good goalie Transfered |
Back up goalie and class of 2028 to SJC. Bullis has a Senior Dickinson commit. It would have been a good competition for sure if he had stayed. 28 was big in the goal. |
| He’s not playing there. |
Neither is the 28 goalie transferring from Sidwell. Huge drop off |
IAC will come down to GP vs Landon. Prep returns several starters from last year, but in all honesty, their starters last year, weren't particulary good. Hilgy will do a much better job than Urick in developing in-house talent at Prep so expect the Hoyas to be much improved and more organized. While Landon graduated their two-headed fogos and several starters all over the field, they are one of the best coached teams in the area, and will remain very athletic in between the lines. Don't expect as dramatic as a drop-off as some are predicting. Bullis will have a tough time scoring this Spring and has ZERO depth. Episcopal this Spring might be able to sneak into the top 3 of the IAC. Saint Stephens and STA will battle it out for 5th and 6th place. In my eyes, the WCAC will be a much deeper conference than the IAC this Spring, where 4 teams are capable of bringing home the ship. |
No dog in this fight, but doesn't GP return all their starting Attack and haven't all the starters committed to good colleges? If that's true (mostly based on memory from lacrosse threads) why did they stink last year? (other than perhaps coaching issues) |
Tough to pick on kids, but the 5 star attack and the big middie were uncoachable. They were shoot first and only players and Urick, while a good college connection guy, just wasn't a good coach. Those 2 guys led every other player to slip into club ball style because no one thought the ball would get back to them. There was some change at NHSLS as the transfer attack showed he's probably the best player on the offensive side and needs to get the ball more. GP's midfield will be very heavy 2027. |
Cont. Landon lost 10 of their top 13: goalie, both fogo's, 2 attack, dmid, 2 mids, 2 poles. Offense will be lacking and they will be pole dependent. Outside of 1 middie, not sure if they have any players over 5'9" on the offensive side. They got pushed around pretty good at NHSLS. Bullis needs to convert the excellent dmid to 2 way at least but they'll be very tired at the end of the game for sure. Bellistri has never tried to work the clock. The Penn commits are very good but this isn't club ball and they'll get caught in transition against better teams with their quick shots. The goalie and fogo are good at club but untested in varsity ball. St. Albans might jump to #3 and should easily be top 4. They could perhaps even make the finals with a hot goalie. The fogo should be competitive in the IAC and the goalie is a 3 year starter. Not sure why he hasn't gotten more d1 attention. They'll be playing in a bunch of 6-4 games. Episcopal and SSSAS just doesn't have enough players to break out of the bottom. |

Who is the Bullis goalie this year?
-Senior Dickinson -NL 28 that people say is now at SJC -Some other transfer? |
Senior |
Odd post. People aren't saying it like it's a rumor. The family transferred the young man to SJC where he will sit this season and likely next bc the 26's and 27's at SJC both have good goalies. |

Top position groups:
Attack (depends some on who ends up playing attack vs offensive mid) 1. Prep 2. GC T-3. SJC T-3. Landon 5. PVI Mids (including SSDMs) 1. SJC 2. Bullis 3. Prep 4. PVI 5. Landon D/LSM 1. SJC 2. Landon 3. Prep 4. Bullis 5. PVI Goal 1. SJC 2. Prep 3. PVI 4. Landon 5. Bullis/GC FO 1. SJC 2. Prep 3. Gonzaga 4. Bullis 5. GC Coaching 1. Landon 2. Prep 3. SJC 4. GC 5. Bullis If these are close to right (and that is obviously debatable, others will assess differently), SJC seems like the heavy favorite. Bullis and PVI are undervalued. Landon’s standing as a preseason favorite rests heavily on the theory that coaching and the relatively untested 27 class are as advertised. Gonzaga is going to struggle against the top teams unless their 28 class can step up. |
