Where is Shining Stars moving?

Anyone know yet?

I hope they don't announce this time until all the papers are signed. What a debacle that was two years ago.

The last word from the school on the subject was that there would be an announcement "very soon." So ¯\_(?)_/¯, maybe in the next coupe of weeks?

Debacle!? Go away and back to your school. Two years ago...really - and in a real estate market that that is highly competitive and that they didn't control. From our experience with the school they have a solid and quite professional administrative/leadership team. SS will no doubt announce when theyve cleared all hurdles. Don't want the '2- years ago debale crowd' crowing or shaking their heads.

Pp, it was a debacle. In this case, that's actually a fact-focused word. I hope they learned not to jump the gun again.

Honestly, it was worse than a debacle. The administration lied and only when contradictory information was revealed on this forum did they even admit to the school families that they had done so. Total disregard for the needs of the families to know the location so they could plan their lives. It was an example of how not to do PR, and frankly, a good reason not to choose the school if the same people are still at the helm.

It was absolutely a debacle.

I have a theory they will announce at the next pta meeting.

It was a debacle. We lived through it and so glad the original founders were kicked out over it.

Anyone who says it wasn't a debacle wasn't enrolled or on the waitlist. People were trying to make decisions based on location, and turning down other slots as a result. It really was a mess. I think the school administration is much wiser now as a result, and has a great community. I do wonder how much it will get fractured if the move is somewhere far from its current location.

When I asked them at EdFest, they were very clear that they were only looking at places close to the current location. I guess we'll see.

It was a mess. I definitely got the impression from the Executive Director that she did not care at all about how this would affect our various commutes. I would've felt a lot more warmly about the situation if she had been even a little bit sympathetic to families' concerns about the commute, the school's stability, etc., but her attitude (at least to me and a couple of other families who are no longer with the school) was that if we were truly committed, we would drive wherever they decided to move.

New PP here. It was absolutely a debacle. I know several people who dropped out of the school because of it.

I'm sympathetic to the folks who feel burned from the last move (we were on the waitlist then, so I had skin in that game), but it seems like the new administration is doing their best to secure a great space.

Looking forward to news and pulling for the current families and the school.

Glad you don't or didn't attend SS. We like the current administration.
