Do you have an office crush?

Anonymous
Just curious.

Are you married or single?

Guy or gal?

What's their status?

What draws you to that person?

Will you ever act on it?

Married
Female
Also married
Intellect, passion, tenacity and a little vulnerability
No, I am happy just to watch him from safe distance

I did.
Was in a LTR but had a crush on a co-worker.
I am female, office crush was male.
He was also in a LTR.
I fell for his sense of humor, kindness, goodness. He was smart and a really hard worker.
I did act on it, over 10 yrs ago. We are happily married with two young children and I'm grateful every day for him. Still makes me swoon.

Oh yes! His name is Maverick. The first time he told me that, I asked, "As in ... Iceman and Goose?" and he sighed and said, "Yes." Then I said, "I bet you get a TON of Top Gun jokes," and he said, "That's pretty much my life." And I've never made one.

Are you married or single? I'm happily married. I just like having crushes.

Guy or gal? I'm a gal, he's a guy.

What's their status? Last time it came up, he had a girlfriend.

What draws you to that person? He's smart, kind and funny. We met over the phone initially. We work for the same company, in different locations.

Will you ever act on it? Oh no. I love the shit out of my husband. Really, I just like to like someone.

Wherever I work I try to develop an office crush, just to keep up my game. Makes the day go faster.

I'm a single woman with a strong office crush on a married man about 10 years older than I am. He is smart, cute, confident, and effortlessly sexy. He is married, but I do want to act on it to get it out of my system.

I have in the past, but not for years.
Female, 43, engaged.
I like smart, funny guys and to be honest, when I was younger I really liked older men. I got my MA in my early 20s and started teaching undergrads while working on my doctorate. I tended to get crushes on the brilliant visiting professors. I completely hero-worshipped them, doted on them, and never expected anything to actually happen.
I guess it's a combination of having one married professor seriously hit on me and getting closer to their age that made me grow out of it. I got married and it never happened again.

This is interesting. I am early 30s and have always been really attracted to much older guys...15-20 years older. I wondered if this was something that is outgrown, or if the age range just gets higher as the years go on....

I wrote this. For me it didn't. At 17, I had a crush on a teacher who was late 40s-early 50s and my preferred age range stuck there. I grew out of the crushes and started dating men my own age, but I still found the guys in that age range the most attractive. I just got closer and closer to them in age. Now, I'm no longer at an age where anyone would pathologize it.

I'm married. I'm female.
He's married.
He's brilliant and highly ethical, which is critical for his job (high up in law enforcement).
I'm sure he does not feel similarly to me. But even if he did, I'd never act on it. I love my husband and I'm ethical, too. I'm just happy there are people like him in the world.

Different poster here. I have always liked older men, too. I haven't grown out of it. I'm 48 and like men in their 60s.
