Ate a pink cheeseburger, frantic about it now! 23 weeks pregnant, am I okay?

Anonymous
Hi! I'm about 23 weeks into my pregnancy now, and I've been very cautious about what I've been eating all along. Tonight, I made my husband and I some burgers, and they were seared and crispy on the outside, but as they were a little thicker, slightly pink in tint all throughout the center. I was hungry so I ate mine, and as I was eating the sides, I noticed my husbands burger wasn't fully browned. I'm worried, is it okay that I did this? The burgers were on the frying pan for a total of about 25 minutes. 15 minutes on one side and ten or more covered on the other (to melt the cheese). I know the internal temperature for burgers has to be about 155 degrees to be safe, however I didn't check the temperature, I didn't think of it having them been in the pan for so long.. Do I have anything to worry about? This is my first pregnancy and every little abnormality makes my heart drop because I want to be sure that my little one is safe and healthy! If it's something to worry about I would like to get into the doctor as soon as I can to avoid any future issues. Advice? Comments? Questions?

This is a joke right?

Chill. Out.

What specifically are you worried about? You are fine, except for the unnatural anxiety you are experiencing.

Good Lord, get a grip! You are insane.

The only thing wrong with this is that you willingly ate a well done hamburger. Blech!

You're fine.
The main risk with undercooked handburger is generally e coli. Pink is usually fine to kill e coli. And you'd know pretty quickly if you had an e coli infection, I think.
But, someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure e coli does not cross the placental barrier, meaning that it won't infect the baby directly. Of course, it's not great to get it while your pregnant, but its not like listeria. Listeria is one of the few bacteria that crosses the placental barrier and can infect the fetus directly, which is why you generally get warnings about listeria. Listeria is more commonly found in cold lunch meats -- I suppose it can be found in raw beef, but I don't think it's common there.

You cray, OP.

If you cooked a burger for 25 minutes, there was no pink unless it was 5 pounds of meat.

I could swear someone asked this, or something a lot like it, a few months ago.

If this is not a joke, OP, you need to CALM DOWN. And I say this as someone who probably has an anxiety disorder. I worry pretty much all day every day, and this would never cross my mind as something to be even mildly concerned about.

Maybe take 10 seconds to see if your food is cooked before you eat it?

Stress is harming your baby. Go take a good walk today to calm your little baby.
