Right? Reddit, the place where Jed Wallace goes to influence public opinion! |
Here is what we know: Gives 17-pt list of conditions. Takes over movie. We don’t know cause and effect. If the allegations were for the purpose of gaining control, they worked. No need to make more. Or, allegations could have stopped because the unwanted behavior stopped. But if unwanted behavior stopped, why the need to take over movie? We can all argue in circles forever. Because we do not know. We are all speculating based on feelings. I personally don’t have an issue with her conditions, per se. I have an issue with where she “takes over movie.” SH protections are there to protect the victim, not to enable victim to turn tables and harass perpetrator. |

I hope Liz plank is deposed.
It seems very odd to me that Blake was texting her in May 2023 about how uncomfortable she felt with Jamie and Justin. And then Liz does nothing and continues the podcast until the New York Times articles drops? It seems like that was planned for maximum impact. I would love to see if there Are other text between them discussing this or Liz plank met with Blake’s PR team. |
“Takes over movie” includes: —Having “a film by Justin Baldoni” removed from poster. —Not allowing him to attend the premiere with others. If unwanted behavior had stopped, no need to do these things, which caused a ton of media attention and speculation about him being a sexual harasser, at which point Baldoni hires crisis PR. I think he has a decent case that his actions were due to her actions, not the 17-pt list. |
This is my problem as well. I don’t understand how anyone thinks it’s appropriate to deal with sexual harassment in this way. Blake never went to HR because she said she tried and didn’t know what to do even though she has a crack team of management and legal who are professionals and could of course help navigate HR. She wants SH to be used as leverage for good press, (“Oh no, let’s stop bringing up Blake‘s problematic interviews and actions because she is a victim of a dangerous sexual predator……or several… since she had a problem with every man she interacted with on set….And two assistant directors that she fired……!”) she wants use it for power and leverage, this was never about holding anyone accountable. |

So now a lot coming to light about the death of a stunt woman on Deadpool 2, a movie produced by Ryan Reynolds. And it was not an accidental death, an investigation ruled that there were multiple safety violations on set. The producers had to pay up and they dedicated the film to this woman.
I find it fascinating Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer gets all this flack on this thread from lively apologists for running a chaotic set, but Ryan Reynolds produced a film where someone died because of a piss poor set that was not following safety protocols. I think a lot more is going to come to light between now and March about these two. |
Yes. They should have stayed quiet but instead by shining a light on Justin, who comes out pretty clean, they actually are highlighting their dirt and misdeeds. Blake is rude but Ryan is the real problem |

One thing I’m really confused about is this fat shaming incident. It seemed to happen at the very beginning in preproduction when Justin was working with the mutual trainer, Don. from Blake’s telling of things, don was inappropriately asked by Justin about her weight.
But what I find so strange is that there doesn’t seem to be any evidence that that happened until the January 4 all hands meeting when Ryan screamed at Justin for fat shaming his wife. I’m just not clear, since Blake used her voice throughout this whole production, why that didn’t come up earlier? I mean she had a lot of power at the start of the film. She was the star being paid millions of dollars, she was an executive producer, which I understand is not as powerful as producer, but it is still something. she had control over the wardrobe. So she did have a voice as is clearly referenced, when she wanted the rooftop scene her way she was not afraid to ask and fight for that. And she wanted her wardrobe preferences she was fully able to push back against that. I’m just not sure why they didn’t address that weren’t frankly why she didn’t have her lawyers right in like they did with everything else she had a problem about. I find it so odd that we’ve not seen one tax or any documentation of the fat shaming. I feel like if it got back to Justin that Blake felt fat shamed, looking at his other behaviors of making apologies for everything, I just don’t understand why there wasn’t a voice note or a text Explaining himself. And I think there isn’t one because it was not a thing until the January 4 meeting - he had no idea what happened because it wasn’t really a thing. |
This is exactly how I feel too |
| So in the latest pile on of the Reynolds parties (which I find hilarious as I’m on Justin’s side here), Matthew Lawrence said RR was difficult on set back in…2000!! They were filming a teen movie and the producers had just won an Oscar but apparently RR still thought he knew better and clashed with the producers. I’m not sure if Matthew said this recently or if someone dug it up, but the implication is “he’s always been this way”. This thing is not going to end well for the Reynolds parties. |
You are not clear. The incident happened in the spring of 2023, Lively and Reynolds found out because the trainer told them that Baldoni had asked. And then Baldoni went to their apartment for a meeting and that's when Reynolds laid into him for it. All of this happened before the movie started filming. I think people should keep in mind how Lively found out about that incident. Her trainer found the question inappropriate and told Lively and Reynolds because he found it inappropriate. You need to think about what it is like to be famous and have your appearance and weight scrutinized all the time, especially after having a baby. I would bet the trainer actually signed an NDA specifically about Lively's weight and health, because this would be considered valuable information to tabloids and gossip columnists. So from the Lively camp's perspective, this would be considered a big breach, for someone to ask for her weight, specifically, and to not ask directly but to ask someone she employs who might have weighed her for his job. That would be considered sensitive info that shouldn't be spread around. I know Baldoni has presented this defense that he was asking because of this lift in the script. I honestly have no idea if that's true. It's plausible. But it's still a violation and that's not how he should have gone about it. I think it's odd that, being an actor and director himself and having worked in the business for a while, it wouldn't have occurred to him how inappropriate it would be to ask for that kind of information from her trainer. It would be like asking her housekeeper how much she drinks or asking her nanny how often she and her husband have sex -- gossip fodder that it would be a huge violation for any of those people to disclose. Also we have no idea how the trainer conveyed this info to Lively and Reynolds. I am certain the trainer felt he had an obligation/duty to tell them and also probably wanted to make sure they knew he'd been asked but had not disclosed, in case Baldoni said anything about it. Baldoni put the trainer in a bad position by asking for that kind of confidential info. It is no surprise to me at all that Lively and Reynolds reacted very strongly. |
Can't wait to hear what Daily Mail, Page Six, Candace Owen's, reddit, and TikTok have to say. |
Same. I think the pro-Lively poster with all the excruciatingly long soliloquies is killing this thread and making it less fun. Every page consumed with their long posts. |
Not so much coming to light as was in papers. More being brought up again. Below linked article has good summary but shortest is was first stunt job for the woman and they had her do motorcycle stunt without helmet and a host of other safety failures. Reads that someone wanted to get this shot and majorly failed to protect. From article: “failed to provide Harris with a new worker orientation, which would have advised her that she was required to wear safety equipment for her job duties, such as headgear.” https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/filmmaker-failures-led-to-death-of-deadpool-2-stuntwoman-worksafe-b-c-report |

It's kind of funny how these things just "pop back up" like the other day when someone "discovered" that Heath is not white (which has not been a secret) and therefore "it all made sense." It's like a new thing every day. For a while it was the plantation wedding, then Harvey girl stuff, etc. Just seems to crop up out of nowhere, very organically, I'm sure.
That is horrible though and I was surprised to look up the stuntwoman's wikipedia and see nothing about a lawsuit from her family. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joi_Harris |
