| You would be insane to leave on Wednesday at 3pm. Thursday at 8am is okay. Wednesday after 9pm would be better, Thursday at 6-7am better still. |

| Chiming in to say I don't like either option. I would leave Wednesday around 9 pm. If you have kids, get them dressed in pjs and load up the car. |

Thursday - leave before 8 am, closer to 7 am is better.

| I do this drive ALL the time. Either do it late at night (although there is more of a chance for construction. But the big construction areas have been finished. If you leave in the morning, leave at like 6 am. It will make a difference. I am personally doing the drive at 6 am on Wednesday. |

| I've also done that drive multiple years (to Exit 11 off Turnpike) and leaving about 6am on Thursday is the way to go. |

| I go to exit 15 on the NJTP from Arlington every year during the holidays and leaving in the early morning has always been way more successful for me. |
