95N/ Nj turnpike--when to leave?

Has anyone had experience with the NJ Turnpike on Friday? We have to go from Baltimore up near the Meadowlands and I have no idea if it will be crowded on Friday morning. Thanks.

I left 2 years ago from silver spring on wednesday at 2 pm and it took 4+ hrs to get to delaware/md border. you be cray cray if you leave wed at 3pm.

We have done both, and turnpike is usually better for that part of Nj (we have family in another part and always take 295). We will have Waze on and hopefully it'll give us sage advice on which route is better.

We would typically get off at exit 10 as well and always seem to run into some type of backup, accident or construction on the turnpike and only take 295/ route 1 these days even if it takes a little longer.
