I know Travis is feeling embarrassed by Taylor’s new album.

He’s too dumb to comprehend most of it.

This is likely the truth.

Also possible that he recognizes the massive upside for him to being in a relationship with Taylor Swift and chooses to willfully block out anything that would indicate that their relationship is just a convenient rebound, or a very showy way to prove to both her exes (but especially Matty) that she's super happy and fine without them. Like maybe he's just enjoying the ride (+ all the private jet rides) and doesn't want it to end, so plays dumb about the fact that she just released a double album indicating she is pretty obsessed with her very recent ex and did not end that relationship willingly.

Which is relatable! Many of us have overlooked a giant, flashing, neon red flag in the form of "oh, they are very not over their ex" because we just really, really wanted it to work. People do it all the time. It's easy to believe you'll be the one to help them actually get over that old relationship.

I agree with you.

She was in limerance with Matty Healy. And he is a wreck.

She an Travis make much more sense, starting with the fact that they are both from the Rust Belt.

Her lyrics. In other words, I am the smart one. Which frankly begs the question, how can she be all that attracted to him? Answer: she probably isn’t.

In other words he’s athletic and she’s poetry - the jock and the nerd. I’ve met enough jocks to know the dumb jock stereotypes is just that.

Being athletic has nothing to do with intelligence - he’s plenty smart enough for her and her crowd.

Umm, isn’t he literally a flunky? You have to be beyond dumb to be a prized athlete kicked off your high school team for flunking easy courses and later drug use.

The phrase @dumb jock” exists for a reason. Some are smart, others🤷‍♀️

Very few American football players are intelligent. Most are functionally illiterate and also suffer from CTE. The handful of higher IQ players are typically quarterbacks and kickers/punters.

This is false, I’ve met a handful of NFL players in my line of work - off the top of my head the positions I remember are cornerback, safety, and a few linemen. They were all very well spoken, listened to directions intently, took notes on what I was saying, asked pertinent questions. You can’t get to that level of play without being coachable and an excellent listener, and these guys were that. Also they weren’t illiterate because they were taking notes.

NFL players all take tests for the draft. The results are public record. Most are dumber than rocks.

DP. I had no idea they administered intelligence tests for the NFL so I, of course, had to look it up.

Until 2022, they administered the Wonderlic Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test. The test gives takers 12 minutes to answer 50 questions. Every unanswered question get 0 points.

Of course, the test is problematic and not just the usual racial and socioeconomic biases but also penalizes people with learning disabilities. And, no surprise, as noted in Sports Illustrated, "No statistically significant correlation between a player’s Wonderlic score and his on-field performance has ever been documented."

A score of 20 is considered average. The player results are supposed to be confidential but were often leaked. Supposedly, Kelce's scored a 22 which puts him above average. Of course, it has nothing to do with football acumen/intelligence.

The Patriot's Gronk (Rob Gronkowski) seems to personify the "dumb jock" stereotype, a real goofball. Yet, the tight end has to be one of the smartest players on the field. It's not enough to be physically quick and strong but also mentally. Bill Behlichek says, after quarterback, is the hardest position on offense.

Kelce can't be the lackwit you seem to think he is. Just because someone show the gravitas you think they should doesn't mean they're unintelligent.

tldr; "Intelligence" tests are problematic because of bias. They are not objective. Kelce could not have been as elite and successful as his if weren’t "smart".

Why didn't she congratulate him on his Super Bowl victory?

It seems they don't interact with each other at all on social media - it's probably a lot easier that way.

She did congratulate him on his win. It was televised across the globe.

What selective memories some of you have. At a press event right before the Super Bowl he was asked about the album. He talked about how great the album was back in February. "I have heard some of it, yes. And it is unbelievable,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end told reporters. “I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops.”

How do you know?

I doubt he cares. He has his own things going on and doesn't need to live in Taytay world

Yep like if it’s that hard to be with a guy, it’s all wrong.

If she writes about Travis like it's too easy, I'm too happy and treated too well. It's simple like high school. We are surrounded by friends and everything we could ever want. I broke MY heart because he was nice. Someone needs to slap her.

He was hilarious on SNL. I personally think that funny people have at least some intelligence. I also think Taylor is very intelligent; she shows a lot of wit in her songs and is obviously talented at the business side of things.

Promoting violence against women. A DCUM low.

Travis isn't book-smart, but that doesn't mean he's dumb.

Kelce's football intelligence is also the key attribute that Tom Melvin, the Chiefs tight-end coach for the past decade, who works with him every day.

"He is probably one of the most instinctual, intelligent football players I've ever been around. In 24 years in the NFL and coaching in college," Melvin told AFP.

"He studies fast, he remembers, it makes sense to him and you really have got to keep him involved because he's going to easily get bored sitting in a classroom or the same thing on the field. You got to really keep him engaged
," he added.

You act like he's receiving this album like every other member of the public. You think they haven't discussed it? You think he hasn't heard all of her stories and vice versa? They're in a relationship for crying out loud. He's in the best position of anyone besides her to comprehend all of it, because he's with her through it, while it was being made. He's not like the rest of us, trying to piece together who's who. He knows exactly what all of it means because he actually knows her.

I agree with this. But there is something I don’t really get about her. I can certainly understand her writing the type of songs that appear on this album. Many people write in journals as a form of therapy to express feelings or get something out of their system and that’s a healthy thing to do. Then they just put them away somewhere and that’s that. But my question is why does she feel the need to HAVE to publish them, knowing they could very well be hurtful, misunderstood, misconstrued, etc.? Even though no one is ever mentioned by name specifically, you know who they’re about. I’m sure there are plenty of songs she’s written that never make it to an album. Is she really just that spiteful or is it just that this kind of thing sells?
