I know Travis is feeling embarrassed by Taylor’s new album.

He’s too dumb to comprehend most of it.

This is likely the truth.

You act like he's receiving this album like every other member of the public. You think they haven't discussed it? You think he hasn't heard all of her stories and vice versa? They're in a relationship for crying out loud. He's in the best position of anyone besides her to comprehend all of it, because he's with her through it, while it was being made. He's not like the rest of us, trying to piece together who's who. He knows exactly what all of it means because he actually knows her.

I agree with this. But there is something I don’t really get about her. I can certainly understand her writing the type of songs that appear on this album. Many people write in journals as a form of therapy to express feelings or get something out of their system and that’s a healthy thing to do. Then they just put them away somewhere and that’s that. But my question is why does she feel the need to HAVE to publish them, knowing they could very well be hurtful, misunderstood, misconstrued, etc.? Even though no one is ever mentioned by name specifically, you know who they’re about. I’m sure there are plenty of songs she’s written that never make it to an album. Is she really just that spiteful or is it just that this kind of thing sells?

And as a fan, it’s really damaging. Is it all really a circus to her?

What? Because she is a songwriter as her career. Should she just... stop? Write about unicorns & rainbows instead? Do you ask authors who publish memoirs why they felt the need when plenty of housewives write diaries they never publish?

I think she needs serious therapy.

What is damaging? Her songs about HER feelings are damaging YOU? You have a choice you know, just don't listen.

It's like a spoiled child yelling just leave me alone, wanting everyone to actually not leave her alone. If I'm not listening, a lot of fans aren't either. Then what, Taylor?

I think she's just a shameless grifter milking her fans with a "creative license." This is all theater. It's just especially cringy, to me, because she's 34 years old and we're 12 albums into this grift.

I mean, she is making hundreds of millions so her brand sells. She is now into the snowball effect where everything she touches turns to gold, regardless of it being good or not. It won't last forever but for now churning out album after album with diss tracks about the men in her life sells. I doubt her brand would be so popular if she just sung about relationships generally. Her fans like to feel like they are part of her inner circle and she gives them that feeling by airing all the gossip and specifics and details of the men she dates.

+1 meaning her mom as her therapist isn’t working anymore (if it ever did)

But she could conduct herself in a more grown up way and I don’t mean acting/drinking. She could stop doing Easter eggs just to toy with her fans. She could charge an upfront amount for her whole album instead of bits and pieces. IF this album is for her, why is she still dripping it out to her fans trying to squeeze more money out of them. She could not write ANOTHER song about a feud with a woman. She isn’t tho.

NP. How is it damaging to you, as a fan? Please spell it out for me because this makes absolutely no sense.

It's weird to me that Swifties can't accept any criticism of her. Like hi it's okay to not worship people 247

I'm a recent Swiftie and I agree with you. I love her music, and think she's basically a pretty great person. But I'll admit I'm losing my patience with these revenge and breakup songs. I think she's become overexposed and she could benefit (greatly) from finishing up her tour and then sitting with herself for awhile - out of the public eye.

She's an immature drama queen who lives for the attention and speculation her songs generate. It's no deeper than that.

I mean I'm embarrassed for her because of this album.

Here’s my take. Taylor is emotionally stunted. She is happy with Travis because he does take her back to what she imagined high school would be like. He has the additional bonus of not being overwhelmed by her celebrity. It may actually work.

The album is *primarily* sad songs about things not working out with the one who had “haunted her so stunningly.”
Listen to the song Guilty as Sin to understand where her heart is.
She and Matty had pined for each other for a very long time.
There is one sad song, So Long, London about Joe. No songs about Travis on the main album.

loml and the black dog are joe as well. not to mention the entire reputation and lover albums and tracks on folklore, evermore and midnights.

the alchemy and so high school are travis. i feel like the alchemy sounds forced though and makes me question how long that relationship will last.

Honest question-is there a song that isn't about a guy?
