Is every age group really having problems? It’s hard to tell under the training format mixing genders and ages.
I am unable to tell if you're worried or asking out of curiosity... if you're worried it's likely for good reason since you're not getting the word, it's your DD. During that townhall, they said the 02/03 team would mainly consist of two teams: 03 red and 03 white (since basically all 02 girls are graduating). Yes, most of 03 red left. Regarding the 2004 age group, there was only one team already. I don't know the age group as much, but if your DD is 04 and she's hearing players are leaving it's probably true. Time will tell obviously, but you'll get your first indicator at the practice fields. It looks to me like you should be seeing how many (and who) returned by now. It might be the 03 and 04 team combining to make it an 02/03/04 team.
OP here. A bit of both (nervous and curious). If we're short on players and have to merge with 02/03 team, would we be playing in the 02 or 03 age group? My worry is we will be 02/03/04 age group. I don't know why we can't just bring up some of the 2005 red girls and then have 2005 white girls play 2005 red. So there would be an 02/03 red team in the 02 age group, and 04/05 red team in the 04 age group, and an 05 red team in the 05 age group. There will be no white teams at all in this scenario but it sounds like there won't be an 03 white team and there already isn't an 04 white team. I understand the 2005 red team may take a hit, but that's what the white team is for isn't it? I would say pull up some 2006 girls but I know there's no 2006 team at all and there's only one of each 2007 girls and 2008 girls.
not the pp here (on our way out as well) but i think what you just described is a decent enough idea given the circumstances. this would fill out three high school team red teams (02/03, 04/05, 05) but since LB won't have an 06 team, and this means taking away LB's 05 team, well i doubt your plan is even being considered. doesn't matter though. as far as the competition level, i don't see it fixing that problem. if most older girls have left are red teams' starters, you'll need a lot of good training over a long period of time to circumvent the competition level issue. at the end of the day, and i'm sorry to sound so rude... you need to wake up. if your dd is seeking collegiate soccer (or if you're seeking value for you money spent), you'll have to find other clubs.
which is why it makes sense op's dd is hearing red team girls are leaving.
