Yadda yadda. He lost me when it was established that he was receiving financial support from his daughter while she was on suits. As a parent I would tighten my belt or get a job before I did that.

It's very normal to give money to your parents when they are old and ailing or otherwise in bad luck. Especially when the parent in question did everything they could to help you succeed earlier. And especially if the child has stumbled upon some success. I've been sending money to my parents for years.

It's not normal to not speak to your father for years.

It's also not normal to not introduce your father to the person you are planning to marry.

Did she lose you when she lied that she paid for her own schooling?

Very few people have to help their parents financially before they even hit 40. When Meghan was on suits Thomas was early 70s so assuming he retired at 65 he apparently didn’t even have 5 years retirement funds saved up Or he retired early and expected her to support him. That is not something a normal person does. And I don’t understand how he’s too old and ailing to provide for himself but healthy enough to regularly do televised interviews about his daughter and stage paparazzi photos.

I agree she shouldn’t have lied about paying for her schooling as it’s not even feasible given northwestern’s tuition. Very weird.

First of all, we don't know the extent of her helping him financially as this was never made public. You don't know if it meant she was supporting him and paying all his bills. For all you know, it may have been a new car or a single vacation or just a check every now and again.

Second, there's nothing wrong with one member of the family who finally made it big being generous to family members who were instrumental in her rise. By all accounts, he taught her to act in front of the camera and work the most flattering angles of her face. That work is evident in her photos.

As to how rare it is to help your parents financially...you are broadcasting from a white UMC bubble, I'm sorry to say.

Well I’m neither white nor from a UMC family so idk about that!

Meghan’s entire (White) side of the family are poor by their own choices.

Thomas lives in Rosarito, Mexico because that’s where Americans who can’t afford the US go to live as they age.

The diplomat uncle lives in a trailer park. How many former diplomats do you know live in trailer homes? He didn’t pay housing for decades, so where did all his income go? Drugs, gambling or addiction.

The stepsister also lives in a trailer home.

I’m not saying they deserve to live in squalor but as the only extremely successful member of the youngest generation Meghan is not required to support all of them financially.

If you aren't going to help support your family then you can't be surprised that they sell stories about you to tabloids. It sucks if you have a shitty family, but a more pragmatic way to deal with this and to avoid further humiliation and embarrassment, would be to either pay them off or repair the relationships. Meghan isn't taking the high road at all and it has done nothing but cause her further problems. She shouldn't have to do these things, but, sometimes you do what you have to do.

She isn’t taking the high road. But also I don’t think that most people who make it big are supporting uncles and half siblings with substantial age differences. A parent maybe.

My parents made much less money than him and certainly have never asked me for any kind of financial help (I’d be glad to if they did). They certainly wouldn’t have retired and asked for an occasional car or “just a check now and then.” I would also never do that to them.

Archie hasn't been outside in months. They dont seem to be very good parents.

I'm sure there are security considerations that are easier to satisfy with a larger property and when many of your neighbors needed similar measures.

It's spectacular how quickly they have fallen. The signs were there though, people just got caught up in the "fairytale".

Fixed that for you.

+1

Typical woke behavior. Give million dollar speeches about equity and environmental issues, then live in a segregated community in a house with a large carbon footprint.

Looks like the estate has a nice kid playgound.

Watch the video of her and Archie. She's the most awkward mother ever. Did not seem used to managing him.

Kate and William manage to tske their kids out all the time, and are super comfortable with each other and the kids.

And did you see how Meghan said she can't join any mommy anr mes cuz shes too famous. Lol

The pandemic has turned these two into after-thoughts. Their timing really sucked.

How does she have no friends from Northwestern?

Was she an outcast there or something?

There’s a spirited Greek Life at NU. Did she rush?
