People I know. The fact that he used to get support online and is now widely ignored. And if he can't even GIVE away signs, that's even worse. |
| If he causes Elaine to lose people will be pissed. |
Here we go, the blame game is already starting. Lets blame everyone because our candidate was weak. |
Meh. It was a phony effort to suggest Mobasheri is competing with Tholen for votes. He won’t get a lot of votes and they’ll primarily come at Karloutsos’s expense. |
|
He's going hard for One Fairfax and some people like that.
I can't imagine they know his disparaging comments about McLean and Herndon or some of his pie in the sky ideas. Many voters haven't done much research so they have a very incomplete picture. They hear he supports One Fairfax, they may want him over Tholen who took it off her website. All candidates have said they want to keep GF in Langley, but maybe if someone thinks he can get some high school built elsewhere, maybe they vote him over Karloutsos. Seems unreasonable but hell elections are strange. I think he'll skim a few votes from both, but I haven't decided yet on who would lose more. That won't be possible to know without some kind of polling asking people to rank their choices. |
I'll vote for whoever had the courage to tell Hutchison area. And tells Corbett Sanders to shove it. Guess what? BOS had a discussion a few years ago on special tax district for Old Mount Vernon HS as a community center like Reston and Mclean. That went nowhere. So Reston has to pay but not them? This is such BS and under One Fairfax. |
| Is it November 5th yet? So tired of this. |
I'll be having a drink to celebrate when this is all over. Let's meet here for coffee November 6th and celebrate the END of this, whatever the results. |
| So I'm like a lot of people on here apparently. Moderate basically. I just want someone not too One Fairfax, nor someone GF-obsessed, nor someone Trumpy. So that knocks out all three of these guys. We do need to address over (and under) capacity ASAP, esp. at MHS. But who to vote for? The only thing I can think of is offsetting whoever I vote for in Dranesville with my at-large votes. So vote Karloutsos but then vote for some of the dem at-large. Or the other way (Tholen and some of the GOP at-large). So my point is, I can't talk about Dranesville vote without also talking about at-large. So my question is: what are people's thoughts here on at-large for a moderate like me? Thanks |
I just posted on another thread. Dranesville vote comes down to whoever has the personal courage and integrity to: - tell general Hutchison area people about the new HS - personal courage to defy the powerful blocs on FCSB and offer amendments for the benefit of the Dranesville District students and taxpayers - that includes junk on the bond referendum - inequitable program money - bond with junk capacity enhancements for trailers that could be solved by boundary changes to permanent existing capacity - sneak move to hire boundary consultant after this bond on the part of the FCPS school board chair |
| Former Dem voting Dranesville person here. I'm voting Republican. |
Three votes for Tholen in our family. |
|
I must say I like Tholen's sign. Nice design to have a globe as the letter O.
I think it would really pop if the continents were green, especially since "green" is her specialty. |
Same here - no question. |
|
Independent and I always vote for candidates and issues supported by both parties.
This time it's all republican endorsed for school board but the other races will be probably be a mix as always. I have to finish research for those soon obviously. |
