They certainly weren't expecting parents to catch on to what they were doing. If those pushing the re-sort by race are re-elected, then that is the public giving them permission to continue as planned. I'm sure at least some people agree with them. |
Elaine is keeping her appointments and clearly wishing she were elsewhere. Yes, Karloutsos supporters would prefer Elaine to Mobasheri, because while we think she will go along to get along on rearranging children by race, at least she's likeable. Maybe she can get us cheaper paper straws and probably knows the best brand/model of solar panels for future projects. Mobasheri wanted the Dem nod so yes I'm sure he would prefer Elaine. |
The Dranesville incumbent is not running for re-election and neither she nor any current candidate for Dranesville is pushing “re-sort by race.” It’s sad that the case for electing the candidates endorsed by the local Republicans is based on stoking fears as to the future plans of the School Board based on gross mischaracterizations of past discussions. And it’s even sadder to know that much of this misinformation is coming from the most privileged residents of the county, in the Langley HS district, who are apparently so fearful of their children’s ability to succeed that they would peddle this stuff. It is very similar to the Felicity Huffman/Lori Loughlin mindset. |
Mobasheri did not seek the Dems nod. He has said time and again that he reached out to both parties and concluded they were too political for a school board endorsement. People love to take things out of context and selectively data-mine peoples comment to meet their own predetermined conclusions. I dont know about his supporters, but he does not prefer either one of the other candidates over the other. Karloutsos supporters prefer Elaine because they fear independent candidates. They want to keep things cozy amongst the two parties, and as MObasheri says all the time, to play the game of musical chairs with our hard earned tax $$$ |
Not sure how you come to these conclusions, but I choose Mobasheri. I am tired of politics as usual. |
A resort by race and class. Omeish has been polite enough to say so in the Reston Impact interview, and in her kickoff speech said she will stand by her view on boundary issues even if it costs her the race. I respect that. Kaufax said in January that fcps is segregated and nuking the boundaries and bussing kids would fix it. I gotta go work out now but I am happy to provide the links later. They said it You just don't like it. The policy staff drafted based on their comments to only says it, but includes the provision of changing boundaries every 3 years. Gotta make sure you can keep the preferred demographics as families move in and out of, and within the county. If the board was so convinced they were justified they would not have stopped working on policy just because it got a little hot before an election. |
And nearly everyone else is tired of Ardavan. He won't win, though. It's either Elaine or Anastasia. |
Its either Tholen or Mobasheri. It'll be close though. |
|
Lots of Tholen and Karloutsos signs.
A few Ardavan signs. Perhaps most of his support is secret. |
I've heard the 3 of them. Tholen got the FCDC endorsement so it's a lock and what's she done with it other than spout the party line as dictated by Corbett Sanders. This bond referendum is disgusting. Keys Gamarra has been totally useless and all these schemes have even the lowest income people in Dranesville District paying via their rent or owned property taxes for porky pig projects in other districts. Not even transparent enough to inform all of Hutchison in an honest and forthright fashion. One Fairfax? How the heck is it equitable to take away community use land from an area walkable to by many poor immigrants from Central America? |
You're basing your conclusions off of about 100-yard signs that are given out for free? |
Tholen is the clear favorite, I agree. Mobasheri makes the most sense though. |
For whom? I can't think of anyone outside western Great Falls zoned for Langley who would have the slightest interest voting for Mobasheri. |

I’m not sure where you all live but in my neck of the woods, nobody is taking Mobasheri seriously and the vast majority of the support is for Tholen - the only candidate with applicable experience. I predict a very healthy win for her on November 5. |

I'm not sure where you are, but everyone in my col de sac is voting for him, and probably the one next to it that he was canvassing a few weeks ago. |
