DP. I agree with the PP on Morgan and LLoyd. Megan was much better several years ago and is on the decline. She’s been a very good player for the USWNT, but her role has been more to push social boundaries further than the women’s game, unlike the former two. Different people have different ideas on whether or not star athletes (or musicians or actors, etc) should (ab)use their fame to push social issues. |
...or, more like it, to push themselves into the media show business. |

A nice open letter to Ms. Rapinoe, with a nice bit of history.

Great letter on all accounts |

New poster here.
Watching the victory parades, it struck me how very much Megan Rapinoe reminds me of another famous footballer: She’s the Paul Pogba of the USWNT. Natural leader, long periods of mediocrity on the pitch punctuated by moments of brilliance, an insatiable desire for attention. |
The sooner the self-absorbed Rapinoe disappears, the better. She will be forgotten and periodically update her Wikipedia page, hoping someone inadvertently clicks on it. Looking forward to the next women's WC! USA, USA, USA! |
+1000. Thankfully, by next week, she should be completely forgotten. |
Indeed! |

Let me guess, the author of the letter is a white male. I don’t think I even need to look that up to confirm as his bias shows.
Megan is a badass. I hope my daughter grows up to be as confident and comfortable with herself as she is. |
Let me guess, you are a sexist racist person who can't argue anything on the merits. |
The only real badasses in the world don’t care what anybody else thinks about them and don’t spend time thinking about it. Rapinoe has many qualities and virtues. This is not among them. But I hope your daughter can grow up that way. It is pretty invaluable not to require attention, affection and positive feedback. And it will be a huge advantage vs her peers, who have been helicopter-parented into needing all that all the time. |
| Lol don’t worry haters she’ll be 38 at the next World Cup, so you will get your wish |
Well said. |
|
Just teach her to be seen, not heard. To know her place.
/s/ I wish I could say the sexism by the PPs is unbelievable. Unfortunately it is not. We still have a long way to go ladies. |
The struggle is real!!!
