I'm all for an interesting mystery but this woman had no reason to 'run' from her kids. She clearly was devoted to the five of them and with her mother in advanced age it just wouldn't make sense.

S/he’s not defending them, just saying that you can’t assume their personality, guilt or innocence based on a single photo of them. That posted is correct, of course. I’m not sure why you inferred it was some sort of defense.
