The multi-millionaires who will pay fines and/or face jail time will be just fine.
Greedy, unethical school staff from the high schools to the colleges who facilitated this scam have ruined their reputations and careers. Yup, they helped horrible parents secure placement for their brats at college, but these parents won’t help them now. |
| Her case will be heard in January. I bet she’s sorry she didn’t plead guilty earlier. |
Well said. |
Hubris. Too pretty for jail—not. |
I'm kinda surprised she and her husband haven't just fled the country. |
I don’t think they would want to leave the kids behind. One of the big reasons she wanted them at usc it’s because it’s close to home. Italy has an extradition treaty with the us, so they couldn’t go there. And they wouldn’t want to live in most countries that don’t have extradition treaties with the us regardless of how rich they are. |
Where would they go? Both of them were born here. |

This guy paid $850,000 to get all FIVE CHILDREN in college. What a joke. So low-income and middle-class students have to study hard and he just paid off college admissions for his rich brats? Well, at least now the world knows how stupid his family is. Time for dad to enjoy 9 months in prison.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7979381/Pimco-ex-CEO-sentenced-prison-U-S-college-admissions-scam-prosecutor.html Over an 11-year period, Hodge paid bribes totaling $850,000 to get two children into Georgetown University and two into the University of Southern California, all on fake athletic profiles, prosecutors said. One of his children was put on an athletic recruit list as a top youth tennis player, while another was cited as a co-captain of a national soccer team. His attempts to offer bribes to get a fifth child into Loyola Marymount University as a basketball recruit failed when Loyola’s basketball coach rejected the application because of poor high school grades, they added. Sentencing - nine months in prison, two years of supervised release, a $750,000 fine and 500 hours of community service |
Wasn’t Pimco also under performing? Pfft. Loser. |
His bribe is more than his fine. And his kid is too dumb to get bribed into Loyola Marymount. Lol. |
| If you can’t bribe your kid into LMU, where on earth *can* you bribe them in? CSU-Chico? |
I applaud the LMU coach for his integrity. I hope the university gives him a raise. |
| Because I sorta care but not enough to read up on it, when is Aunt Becky set for sentencing in all this? |
She pled not guilty so her case will go to trial. Right now they are saying the first set of trials will be Oct 2020. She will have a few court dates between now and then but the sentencing won't happen until next fall and that is if the case goes to trial as currently scheduled. |
Thank you for the update. So we still have quite a while to go. |
