2020 Senate Map

For all of us who are actually not partisan Ds with brains I think it's time to do the snake most to least likely to flip

AL is going to flip Red so Ds need 3 seats for a tie, 4 for outright majority.

CO, AZ, ME, (Tie), NC, (Win),

Those 4 races are what matters. Focus the fire there. Everything else is still tilt R and throwing money away.

I think Loeffler's seat is possibly in play in GA and MT might be close.

I mostly agree - I’ve been saying that Ds are wasting scads of money by throwing it at McGrath and Harrison. But I think the point of mentioning the other races is that they’ve already moved substantially leftward and might continue to do so in the next six months amid a continuation/possible resurgence of the virus and a malingering economy. Certainly GOP leadership is worried about this according to some articles in the last few pages.

Going blue.

They should be nervous.

Most republicans never liked Trump, just using him for their own agenda. Only Trump is stupid to think they like him and want to defend him.

I truly don’t understand why he has a 95% approval rating in his party though.

A pretty significant number of Republicans who were in the party when he ran have left the party. I know a few personally.

NC is still a stretch. I agree that Alabama, Iowa, Kentucky and such are lost causes at least at this point.

Yeah I don't get why it hasn't trailed off. Bush II was pretty low at several points even among Republicans especially towards the end when his numbers were abysmal

It’s basically a cult at this point.

Because conservatives have fewer "must have" issues that they need supported to support the candidate. There are a lot of people who vote solely based on 2A rights and for them there is no other more pressing issue. Same for pro-life. Same for pro-business. There are some who support a few issues that align with the party. And many of them are absolutists. Once they are behind a candidate that supports their issue, they are 100% for that candidate and support that candidate.

Liberals tend to be much more inclusive and have a bigger list of "must haves". They want someone who supports a wide variety of issues from social welfare to minority rights to women's rights, pro-choice, and so on. And it's harder to find a candidate who supports the same broad range of issues as each voter. And liberals are very judgmental about someone who only supports some of their issues, but not all of their issues.

Trump only has to support a few key issues and he'll get that strong 95% rating among his core. Biden has to support all of the issues that his core wants or they waiver in their support for him.

No. You don’t get it. People hate Trump. It doesn’t matter who is running. The only concern during the primary was, “ who are we certain will win”. It doesn’t matter what they stand for. The only thing that matters is that the democrat isn’t Trump. Elections are usually won by getting people to vote for something, but in this case it’s about voting against Trump.
