Next week after the new BOD meets. |
| A deal like this doesn’t happen in a matter of weeks. Contracts and everything need to be negotiated. This happened a while ago and was finalized recently. It’s not as simple as just hiring a coach with NM. When you get NM and ML you’re getting his company, so this is not a reaction to what happened earlier this month. They’ve been coaching other teams in the areas concurrently so I’d be surprised if they don’t come back to GFR. |
| How has this mess affected the younger players U9 / 10 / 11? I agree with the earlier poster about focusing on the actual experience of the player, team, and coach… but curious of you all think this drama will affect what seems to be solid coaching for the early years. |

| Nothing will change for the younger age groups. Coaches will sit on the bench and just have kids play around and not teach them anything like they do. Then during the games, the coach will just sit on the sideline and yell at the kids |
Totally disagree. GFR coaches have had little turnover for the younger ages groups and focus on development. Retaining those players as they get older has been a challenge as most move on to higher level national teams at U13. |
Especially for girls the same coaches are there from when my daughter was a U9 and she's now a U17. |
| Any 2015B players get offers yet? |

| If you are interested in your kid having fun, GFRS is probably a great place for your family. If your kid has decided that they want o maximize their development and play at a higher level, GFRS is no longer a place that can offer that sort of development. I am not sure what happened to NM but he took with him any hope of GFRS becoming a destination for players looking to reach a higher level. There is nothing wrong with rec but if you are looking for more, that ship has sailed. |

This is exactly why we are leaving after two years. Our kid wants to stay for the fun/friends, but he ruins any chance of developing better soccer skills if we stay. |
