Maybe she was trying to hit him, and maybe she wasn't. But by the time he fired at her, he clearly wasn't in any danger. This would get any cop fired.

I just do not understand. I am a white woman of an advanced age. As a very small child, I was taught to always do what a policeman tells you to do. Always.
As a new driver, I was told that when a policeman stops you, you stop and put your hands on the wheel where he can see them.

Right or wrong, those are the rules.

ICE are not police.

Is ICE law enforcement, are they sworn to duty and trained? He was hanging on her side window and she drove off. He could have let go and stepped away. Instead he impersonated a police officer thinking he had grounds to lethally stop her with a bullet.

How many times have masked law enforcement that are known to be violent approached you screaming with guns drawn?

God rest her soul and it does appear that deadly force wasn't necessary in this case but encouraging civilians to obstruct or disobey Law Enforcement in any way will only get more people needlessly killed; especially with ICE agents as this case illustrates the inexperience of many of their gun toting officers. Protest is fine but stay away from them.

Except she was told to get her car out of the way and simultaneously told to get out of the car. And the men shouting at her were masked and unidentified. What were you told to do in that situation?

when "law enforcement" is acting outside the law, they should be protested...is that what the whole "don't tread on me" thing is about?

They enforce immigration law. They can arrest someone who impedes them. That's it.

Problem is, the last year has given them NO CREDIBILITY. They scream "impede" when someone takes video from 15 feet away. People charged with impeding have the charges dismissed over 90% of the time.

It's all theater. And now a woman is dead.

1) she didn't "drive at law enforcement'
2) she was told to move out of the way - the legal orders you are referring to- which she was trying to do when she got shot

Reading this thread, I can’t help but think that there are 2 distinct USAs. Even with a video, the 2 sides come to very different conclusions. Is there any hope for the 2 sides to coexist anymore?

I don’t. But people are not trained to actually rationally in these situations. But law enforcement officers are. That’s why they are trained to de escalate, not shoot blindly into a moving vehicle, only draw guns if necessary (he was the only one, and not stand in front of a moving vehicle.

What are ICE agents trained to do? Use the facial recognition software? Anything else?
