It’s very simple. If Americans didn’t believe his policies would help the country, they would have voted for Kamala. None of this is rocket science. You are confusing your less widely held opinions with fact.

Americans believed Trump would make their groceries cheaper and stated outright that they voted for him for that reason. But now we've seen he's already betrayed them and backtracked on that promise. Not to mention, everything's going to start getting a lot more expensive once his deportations and tariffs go into effect. It wasn't rocket science to see that one coming but obviously a majority of eligible voters were too stupid to see it coming.

PP is right. In a December 13 interview, Trump said the following when asked about grocery prices:

"Look, they got them up. I’d like to bring them down. It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard," he said in the interview published Thursday.

Sounds a lot like his comments about his nonexistent healthcare plan: "Nobody knew healthcare could be so complicated."

I can't wait to see how they backpedal on the promise of deporting millions of "illegals" when they find out that isn't exactly easy either.

Saying something is going to be hard isn’t backtracking unless you don’t know how to read.

Promising things you can't deliver works in the short term for politicians but eventually comes back to bite them in the a**. Trump is especially prone to making exaggerated promises or claims that can be easily disproven. Here are just some of his more over-the-top "promises." *Throughout his campaign, Trump repeatedly bragged that he was uniquely positioned to resolve Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In March 2023, he said he could “fix” the war before he was even inaugurated. "I would fix that within 24 hours, and if I win, before I get into the office, I will have that war settled,” the president-elect said in a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity. “100% sure.”

*“Starting on Day One, we will end inflation and make America affordable again.” Aug. 9, 2024 / Bozeman, Mont.

*He repeatedly told a crowd in North Carolina that he would "rapidly drive down prices" at supermarkets on the day he is sworn into office.

“That means we're going down and getting gasoline below $2 a gallon.” Sept. 5, 2024 / Economic Club of New York

*Trump has also vowed to end birthright citizenship—meaning anyone born in the U.S. automatically gaining citizenship—on his first day, acknowledging in an interview with NBC News that doing so may not be possible, given it’s a right enshrined in the Constitution, but saying he wants to undo it via executive action “if we can.”

Trump promised us he would do these things, and he promised us that it would be fast and easy for him to do them. He lied on both counts.

Yep. Based on what he said, I expect grocery prices to decrease tomorrow, on his inaugural day. He's a liar if he doesn't make it happen.

No wonder people in his own party dislike him.
