Calling it now: FCPS CLOSED FOR THE WEEK.

Mark my words. Come back to this!

I hope you are wrong! (Though you are likely correct.) There is the possibility of snow next weekend. This could be a disaster.

They’re not going to close for the week. Simmer
down.

Wouldn’t be the worst thing. If there’s snow for kids, could be some core memories. Everyone remembers when the schools closed for a week in the 90s from snow.

Only time we we closed for a week was bizzard of 1996.

That was back when Americans were tough, not the weak, woke America of today. Going to get more snow next Friday and Saturday. Schools will reopen with a 2 hour delay on January 15th.

Snow is woke now. Got it.

I hope you get the help you need.

No help needed. Where I grew up the snow projected for Sunday/Monday would be considered a dusting. Would be going to school on time.

Like it or not America has gone soft and woke culture is partially responsible for that softness.

Maybe you need to move back there. Do us all a favor. Your “woke culture” nonsense is so boring and makes you sound unintelligent.

More entertaining here, so many crazies. Nothing more fun to watch than the coastal elites and their foolish ideas.

You know that you people *are* the “crazies,” right?

You’re kidding, right?

Considering the debate here, I am not sure what to think. Personally, I would love for school to be closed on Tuesday regardless of the snow

Just enjoy watching the Walton all night longboard

Yes yes we know- walked uphill both ways barefoot in the snow.

Let’s get you to bed grandpa. You’re sundowning.

There is no chance they will be open Tuesday. Zero.

Best case, they open Thursday. I would not be surprised by a full week closure.

Ah yes. I too lived in one of those places that become freezing hellholes where you have no choice but to invest in endless plowing and mountains of salt if you don't want life to grind down to a complete halt for six months. Still have vivid memories of SUVs doing cartwheels in the snow in spite of all that investment.
The sporadic snow and inconvenience are not worth the investment here. But you knew that.

OMG, I hope they just have a delay Tuesday. I need to get some work done after having checked out the past two weeks.

Thurs will be closed for the Carter funeral.

Are you okay with they don’t reopen till next week or even next month?
Anonymous
It’s only January 11 and they used 5 snow days.

I think we will use over 10 this year maybe 20

Why wouldn’t they have announced that already if that were going to be the case? And why should schools be closed just because federal workers have off? It’s not like that makes it harder for kids to get to school or for the schools to operate. They haven’t closed in the past for presidential funerals.

That’s not happening. Please stop posting lies. It’s not cute.

Did you travel back from 6 days into the future?

Be careful what you wish for. 2020 you wanted the two weeks off, and you cried and still crying about it. Now you think is good. You will never get over 2020, and now you happy they closed again. All in going to say is you cry better not cry schools being closed ever again

There’s no way they’ll open Tuesday. Not gonna happen. Maybe 2hr delay Wednesday. That’s the best you can hope for. And I think that’s becoming less likely as the predicted totals go up.
