And you are right, it's been a hard few years for 8s with many mergers. No consistency.

Union girls won 9 of 12 this weekend.

07s and 10s are in 2nd out of 12 teams, 09s and 12s are in 4th. 11s are 7th and 08s are 9th.

All teams with positive GD except the 08s. Aggregate GD across the 6 teams is +52.

Seems respectable.

How do they handle game day rosters with that many players? I cant imagine that helps any having to leave 7 or so players off each game day.

I get older teams need more players due to injury/availability etc but having an NL team with 24/25 players is wild.

Recognizing that 90% on this thread is worthless input from mostly disgruntled keyboard warriors, seeking some insightful thoughts in the context of 13/14 year old girls. Do the four ECNL programs have different cultures and perspective and development of talent? Is there a program(s) that has stronger coaching, culture, etc? I am looking for a pathway that develops my daughter and strengthens her joy for the game. I am starting to see clubs prioritize winning and inflating rosters at a very young age, which is causing us to think differently.

Just go to VDA if she’s any good. It’ll all work out.

No clubs develop players, they just give access to platforms. Some have 'better coaching' but that should be taken with much perspective, it's better coaching in that they're coaching to get a result that the program is doing well in hopes of drawing better players year to year from other clubs. DMV soccer is a mess for girls and if you hear otherwise it's only because you're hearing peoples perspectives from situations that work for THEM, which isn't always the same for others.

Ok, so just start with one and hope it works out? Are the Pre-ecnl feeder teams much of an indicator of future performance or does it all get shaken up at u13?
