Great point! Dr Gay was chosen because they believed she would implement their agenda. |
Obviously not. Politics. DeSantis wanted to make a point. So he installed some right wing stooge as a gift to the Trump base. Poorly educated white males. Rural, small town, exurb. Harvard is theoretically above New College or whatever it's called. But they are doing the same thing. They are hiring based on politics and race. In Harvard's case, it's DEI and all that garbage. Absolutely no different then DeSantis appointing some mediocre white male to make a point. Maybe one day talent will be the thing. But, clearly, it's not happening today. Claudine Gay was a very mediocre president for Harvard. Obviously, she got the job because of her race and gender. It really doesn't do women and black folks any favors. In 2024, it's just dumb to not go with genuine talent. |
Does Harvard consider New College in FL to be its peer institution? |
De Santis does. |
DEI advocates would be well advised to forget about Claudine Gay. Harvard didn't vet her credentials well and let's face it, some hires just don't work out. If progressives make her the poster girl for DEI, then they are making a mistake and will only have themselves to blame when the whole concept becomes discredited. |
"On the internet, no one knows you're a dog." |
I, for one, am looking forward to returning to business-as-usual in hiring practices. It's so much easier to work with people like myself and not to have to tiptoe around DEI hires. Enough of this nonsense. |
He should know...he's a graduate. |
Yes, a Republican graduate of not one but TWO "elite" "woke" institutions, which opened a lot of doors for him: "At Yale, he joined St. Elmo, one of the school’s “secret societies,” long known as breeding grounds of future senators and presidents. Though he says Harvard was gripped by left-wing “critical legal studies,” the doctrine was long on the wane by the time he arrived, and the school provided entree to the power brokers of the conservative Federalist Society. When he went into politics, his elite résumé helped him court wealthy donors, raise money and garner introductions to prominent Republicans. As he acknowledged in a panel discussion back in Cambridge, Mass., shortly before he first ran for governor, “Harvard opens a lot of doors” for aspiring politicians." |
D- troll attempt |
100 years from now historians will wonder how mankind survived two world wars, numerous regional conflicts, as well as, two world-wide pandemics yet barely survived the onset of CRT and DEI. |
Ten years ago the idea that you could credibly compare Harvard to New College would have been seen as a joke. Yet here we are. It is remarkable how tainted the Harvard brand is now. |
