It could just be racial biases. |
Why do you say only test scores?? Asians excel in Test, GPA, ECs, Awards, etc. Where did you get that weird idea from?? |
+1 That's exactly what so many who grew up in other countries never seem to understand. We do things differently here, and it works. |
Not sure about that given American college students' dismal overall academic performance |
Very few of the comments in this thread have been racist. You are misunderstanding what you read. |
Again, test scores are not the only indicator of success. Take a look at the American economy and you'll see the results of the American educational system. Oh, and test scores in some of those countries where it appears they're being so much more successful with their education than we are would be significantly lower than ours if they included scores from all students like we do instead of just those from the elite schools. |
+1 so many stereotypes and "implicit" bias (frankly, racism) on display in this thread. Like Asians are just good at tests. The point is that many of these applicants were excelling on "holistic" admissions as well. Otherwise there would be no need to try to undercut them. |

"One helpful illustration of this point your honor, is SFFA's own expert, their own decile analysis finds that "Among the most academically qualified students, Asian Americans and White applicants actually have a higher acceptance rate than Black students, this is their own expert evidence, and this is discussed at tab 78, as the District Court commented that is a particularly strange result if their characterization of our admissions' process is accurate."
WOW. This lawsuit is a waste of time. My god. |
Is that correct? What would the percentage need to be for the Asian American's who don't get in to accept the outcome? |
The plaintiffs are about to win at the Supreme Court, hardly a waste of time |
A school needs football players, cheerleaders, frat presidents, drama majors, art majors. Dancers, all types of things. It is not all GPA and test scores. It would be a very boring school if you only admitted people with perfect test scores. Also diversity is important. I learn nothing from people like me. Group think. Are people really thinking the basketball team can be full of 5 foot six Chinese kids? |
Do a closer reading |
|
Asian Americans make up 5.7 percent of population with a 30 percent acceptance rate at Harvard.
It takes balls to Sue |
“Groupthink” lol. The irony. It’s progressive groupthink that prevents you from considering both sides of this debate. Yes, diversity is vital, but so is not discriminating on the basis of race. |
