Q: "How much influence do you think parents of K-12 students should have over what schools teach?"

A: "Most or some":
Asian: 70%
Black: 67%
Hispanic: 67%
White: 75%
Suburban Women: 69%

A: "Not really":
Asian: 21%
Black: 22%
Hispanic: 27%
White: 19%
Suburban Women: 20%

Gee, that’s totally not a leading-question, is it?

Garbage poll. Worthless.

Not worthless. It goes directly to what’s been happening in our public schools, even before the latest Loudoun County fiasco. In 2018 the Fairfax County school board adopted changes to the family life curriculum, even though 80% of the public comments opposed it. The anger over these issues has been developing for a long time. McAuliffe is walking into this without reading the room. I think he’s out of touch with what is top of mind for Virginians today, and it shows.

“Do you think parents should walk into libraries and just yank books out?”

Because no one cares. It’s not like some crime was committed or there was an attempted overthrow of the election like on Jan 6, this was just a peaceful political demonstration. Right-wingers are wound up about it but most people don’t care because they’re not that interested in politics.

People across the nation are talking about this asinine and completely tasteless "prank." But sure - "no one cares."

People are talking about how fcked up our country is now. How the RWNJs are driving wedge issues and creating frenzy and division.

This stunt was in response to just how nuts the right is right now.

The numbers coming out of early voting from that area are very bad (that’s why McAuliffe was there yesterday and today).

Another good source I check daily is vpap.org. Click on the “Early Voting” tab. You can see turnout by county, comparisons with 2020 and 2017 elections, etc.’

Dave Wasserman is another reputable political analyst. He has posted a spreadsheet of the percentages Youngkin needs to hit in each county to beat McAuliffe.

Younking getting huge crowed in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake. I don't know if this is because Miyares is local there and very liked or other reasons, but the number of support for him is unprecedented in Hampton Roads.

Look at the crowd. Same exact inbred mouthbreathers that were at the other rallies around the state. They are literally bussing the same crowds all over the state to make it look like the Hedgefund Hero can draw a crowd.

It is so sad that you are calling black voters from Norfolk mouth breathers. That is racist statement.

I don’t see very many Black faces in that crowd. Just a few. Probably paid to be there. Another dirty trick trump invented.

I saw lots multicultural and multiracial people there who were speaking up in support of Glenn Youngkin. Find yourself a better candidate for next time.

You are so clueless about Hampton Roads demographics.

And, the School Board in FCPS also changed names of schools against the wishes of the community. And, then chose a name the community did not support. Why bother to ask the community if you are not going to listen to them?

“In close elections, how do undecideds break?

Answer: 2 to 1 for the challenger.

TerryMcAuliffe is considered an incumbent from having already been governor. That’s why polls show late-deciders moving to
@GlennYoungkin.

Well 2024 is going to be a doozy. A current and a former president challenging each other? Never been done before...I don't think. Teddy Roosevelt tried to come back after being ousted but I think he was running against an open field?

Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison in 1892.

See this is why I love DCUM. So many smart commenters (as long as you avoid the nuts in the relationship forum). I checked the 1892 election and it seems Cleveland (the former President) won.

This is what keeps me coming back. Random factoids.

Without those, the lying RWNJs would have driven me away long ago.

Actually, this poll is explaining the state of Virginia right now. Education is the #1 issue for most of the electorate.

No, it’s the #1 issue for racists and fascists.

The rest of Virginia cares about REAL issues: climate change, equal rights for all genders, women’s health, immigrant rights, ending the culture of police violence, getting rid of guns, and righting all the wrongs of the past brought to us by white men like Youngkin.

Just another dirty republican trick.

Ok, show us a reputable source that documents the number one issue in their Virginia gubernatorial election is climate change or equal rights for all genders. Or any of the idea issues you listed.

Is this true?

The campaign of Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe accepted $350,000 from Lyca Tel LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of a UK holding company, owned, and controlled by Sri Lankan-born British national Allirajah Subaskaran, reports The Washington Free Beacon.

I’d say education is very much a women’s issue. Closing schools unnecessarily cost many women their jobs and untold others their sanity.

Virginia under the democratic governors has been a pretty well run state with reasonable taxes. Some of the things people are complaining about - permits, school things - are local elections. I made some non-D choices in my local elections, but for the state and federal, no way would I vote for what passes as the Republican Party today.

Yep and he can't seem to point to any accomplishments or efforts to highlight which is why people aren't voting for him. He's a Clinton campaign hack and the last thing we need right now - straight liars.

Youngkin is a liar.

Did you vote for Princess?

So you say and no. It wasn't Youngkin's campaign that had party operatives standing out in the rain under opposition property trying to fabricate a falsehood. LIARS.

It was performance art to remind voters of the type of people who supports Youngkin, who is linked closely to Trump, the worst president in history.

Exactly. “Both sides”.

And it wasn’t campaign staffers. You guys still owe them apologies.

In one of the pics, the guy is seen on his phone. We would have to see his subpoenaed phone records to see what he was doing and where he was at that time, to ensure it isn't him. Otherwise, I will take the blocked/deleted twitter accounts to be evidence of guilt.

Because you’re pushing this mob mentality like an ignorant twit.

At least two of those people you “identified” are clearly incorrect. Where is your apology?

For a former Governor, McAuliffe has a shit load of campaign scandals
